There needs to be an emergency point at which hospitals can use desperate measures without getting sued.

I'm expecting a movie someday where governors team with gangsters to score fentanyl and smuggle PPE past Trumper FEMA gangs trying to seize it for Kushner's hoard.

Wouldn't it be just a hoot if someone threw a shoe at his head?

I am absolutely certain a post apocalyptic scenario exists where Republican tribes tell tales how the wicked liberal Satanists infected everyone by being sinful.

I probably made a huge mistake in backtracing that doctor. He apparently appeared on Tucker's show and uncorked this little "gem":

"We've used it on several hundred patients of ours and so far it's pretty good," Hernandez said. "We have lower hospitalizations and lower mortality."

And at this point, I already know that this doctor is either a liar or snake oil pitchman. Either way, this "doctor" needs to be hauled before the Department of Health with all of his records in tow. BS Peddling like this needs to crushed.

But this is Florida, so unlikely.

Well... they might stop filming new episodes in November, but unfortunately it'll stay on the air through the middle of January, at least.

When you rely on criminals to be less immoral than your normal suppliers, you know you've made a wrong turn somewhere.

Again someone is confusing authoritarianism with socialism/communism. It is a different dimension. The USSR was a lot more authoritarian than they were communist, though they were certainly both.

Capitalism vs communism discusses who gets the profits, capital, or labor. (Socialism is a middle ground where luxuries are capitalist and necessities are only capitalist until people start dying at which point they will be made communal.)

Authoritarianism vs Autonomy discusses how we go about reaching those goals, do we use centralised power or do we let people decide for themselves? This is often conflated with the violence vs passivism dimension.

Personally I prefer a 90% passivist 80% autonomous 90% communism country , but I live in a 60% passivist, 40% autonomous, 30% communist country. Still, better than the USA. I would estimate the USA at 30% passivist, 70% autonomous, 10% communist country.
