I will admit to a fair degree of concern about how often it seems both MSM and ordinary conscious citizens appear to misdirect the full force of their focus, however unintentionally. I hosted a thread the other evening on the aftermath of Roseanne's comments and their racist nature and what Professors Eddie Glaude and Jason Johnson, both African-American, said needed to be the national response, and so many of the commenters were like "Roseanne Roseanne Roseanne what are the terrible Fox News viewers going to think and say obsess obsess obsess OMGGGGGGG" and I was like 'THIS IS PART OF THE PROBLEM CAN WE TAKE THE FOCUS *OFF* THE WHITE PERPETRATORS FOR MORE THAN HALF A NANOSECOND AND FOCUS ON WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO FOR THE *VICTIMS*, PLEEEEEEASE?" and everybody nodded at me and said "Yes yes yes of course you're right" and then went right back to chattering like magpies about the perpetrators of the racism, Roseanne and 45. I'm frustrated about how ... well-trained in implicit bias self-identified progressives seem to be. I don't care about the Trump supporters. They sure don't care about me, so I'm frustrated by how over-anxiously so-called progressives continue to obsess and obsess and obsess and OBSESS about them. I'd say it really feels like the liberal Weimar Republicans obsessing about the Nationalist Socialists, except none of them seem to know any history either and so they have no idea what I'm talking about.
