The Art of War (a book Hegseth claims to have read) has a section that is literally "hey, make sure to keep your troops fed and not to overextend your supply lines" The Art of War is basically "The Failson guide to war"
I did 3 deployments in 4 years in the 90s, and there was shit going on then in the middle east as well. We NEVER ran out of food or supplies. The food on the ships that I was on was actually pretty decent, much better than school cafeteria food. This is a goddamn disgrace.
I’ve played the (criminally underrated) Bulletstorm where you crash land on an abandoned planet full of insane marauders alongside the evil empire that’s been in pursuit of your rebel crew. Early you snatch a tracking device from the enemy that grades you based off how creative/cruel you are in your mission, with the points they give acting as a currency that you trade in at supply drops for ammo and weapons. Since this affects the entire military, it makes it pretty clear they’re happy to let their own soldiers go without basic necessities if they don’t meet an arbitrary standard of cruelty and viciousness…
… and still sounds like an improvement compared to how this administration is handling things…
That would make a great beginning of a chorus for a death metal anti-war anthem.
And Jesus, those poor sailors are just another cog or replaceable plebe to these monsters. To repeat myself: history will not be kind to the US of A during the Fourth Reich Era.
if any of these idiots knew anything about the history of warfare (and I don’t know anything about warfare), they would have at least heard of the quote from Napolean (allegedly), that, An army travels on its stomach.
Sure, it's pretty obvious at this point. There was no advanced planning and no pre-staging of consumables close to the theater of operations.
But there is also the Trump imposed cowardice on the United States Navy. US Navy ships in addition to not transiting. The strait of Hormuz are apparently not going through the Suez canal either. The food for the sailors and Marines is probably stuck on a slow boat going around the Cape of Good Hope at the southern tip of Africa.
Is Brooke Rollins now in charge of military rations?

That strip of shoe leather might be one (1) slice of Walmart frozen gyro “meat”. Bleah.

Can a Navy nutraloaf be on the horizon? Keep an eye on the Straight of Vermouth.
Hegseth has accomplished what many thought impossible, Becoming a more despicable POS than Trump
That's some piss poor groceries on that plate right there.
And those care packages stuck in the warehouses? The rats have taken everything.
Even the cardboard boxes.

Logistics is for losers
"No DEI! Lethality! War boners!"

Admiral King, who led the Navy in WWII famously said, "Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics".
Pretty easy to see which side Hegseth falls on.
That food looks a lot better than anything I got in jail. Which is not an excuse, mind you, just an observation.

They're not running the Navy like the navy.
When the Trump Gold Battleship is finally released this won't ever be problem.
