Vietnamese think the Republican party is anticommunist. Chinese like antiregulation of business. Koreans are evangelical Christians. It is hard to think of anything the Democrats have done that particularly should appeal to naturalized Asians or first-generation immigrants. And while white Americans have forgotten the American crusade to maintain colonialism in Indochina, you should not be surprised to learn that Asians have not.

Do NOT sleep on this guy. Like Liz said, he beat Feingold TWICE. I still don't know how that happened.

I think he's some sort of wizard. A dumb, dumb wizard.

Maybe if we are lucky they'll try to cut out the middle man and run the remaining Koch brother.

Otoh, I can't see Wi GOP voters coming out in droves for that guy. I'm thinking they came to the polls for Walker in 2010 and Trump in 2016. I guess it'll depend on who is running for governor and if that person is exciting enough to bring newer GOP voters to the polls. Then Johnson can ride their coattails again.

People seem to think he would be easy to beat, which would be something worth celebrating. And it would be funny as hell to see him fail. But he's not easy to beat.

After all it was fun to laugh at Trump back in the day too.

I'll laugh and cry with relief if we take that POS down.

The Biden backlash and probably the Evers backlash might bring enough people to the polls.

Scott Walker, the governor and the Secretary of State were Republicans and controlled the election setup. They screwed with the process (sent fewer voting machines and kiosks and created longer waiting lines) in Democratic districts. It's one big reason why Trump won Wisconsin, Walker screwed with the voting process to tilt it Trump's way by 11 thousand votes. Tony Evers ran against him and won. The Secretary of State office also went to the Democratic candidate and they made sure everyone got the chance to vote, even with the Republican controlled state legislature and State Supreme Court screwing with the process every way they could. And Biden won the state in 2020. The irony is that Walker ran again, and was locked out by his own Sore Loser law, passed by the State Legislature and signed into law by him, saying that if the margin of victory was one percent or more, you had no recourse in asking for a recount. Something similar happened in Michigan (Governor Synder is a piece of shit in his own right. 75 percent of the voting machines malfunctioned on Election day in Detroit, a Democratic stronghold. He lost, and the Democratic candidates for Governor and Secretary of State won. Biden won that state too.

Native Minnesotan here chiming in to say that you shouldn't bet the farm on Wisconsonites *not* electing the most depraved scum-suckers they can find.

Thank you for the analytical reply. Yes, that all makes sense, except the Republicans are generally the ones in favor of colonialism and think of them as second-class citizens, if they think of them at all..

Bacterial immunotherapy treatments to prevent recurrence of bladder cancer have a similar effect, which fortunately doesn't last long. Zappa's question "Why does it hurt when I pee?" has a ready answer in that case.

I can beat that. Back in 1974 the late, lamented New Times magazine ran a cover story entitled “The Ten Dumbest Congressmen,” with the “King of Dumb” being Virginia’s William Scott, who not only made many stupid comments, but also racist ones. He decided not to sue for libel (fearing he might not win) and declined to seek re-election, having served just one term. He was like the beta version of T****, back when racism was still marginally acceptable.

Let’s not forget Paul Ryan, the scourge of every deer. And of course, the guy with the eminently punchable face, Scott Walker.

Yeah, but all of these elections were too close for my comfort, and the distaste for Trump helped get people to the polls. I don't think Wisconsinites have the same feelings about Johnson, as he seems like a boring jar of mayonnaise. I think the momentum against him is starting to build though. (Fingers crossed.)
