A few weeks ago I mentioned discovering several YouTube channels where down-home women (and men) pretend to offer sage cooking wisdom passed down by their ancestors. It's 100% stolen information delivered via fabricated AI content.

I've queued the following video up near one of the most amusing parts. Watch the fridge door a few seconds in. It's hilarious.

Kamala Harris: I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea.

Inserts gif of man falling face first in the mud.

Alternative Dog's avatar

Imprisonment would be much better.

He’s been impeached before. No big deal.

Update on a rapist’s (fine, allegedly) trial:

"Russell Brand tells trial he had sex obsession but consent is ‘non-negotiable’" That's right, folks, he's not going to negotiate with you over consent. As Nike says, "Just do it!"

so what he's saying is that his base is too stupid to know who is republican and who is not - and he's saying that TO his base 'you're too dumb to know how to vote' - i wonder how that is going down with the alaskan magats and gopers?

Also they don't know what incumbent means.

DOJ better start bustling to find a law that she personally broke. Tick tock, motherfuckers. What kind of law breaking will the NYT uncover about Talarico?

Even if true, it's playing dirty but not illegal. The FOTUS is jealous that he couldn't do the same thing.

It’s not even that dirty. I’ve done worse to candidates who were in my way.

Khaki, incidentally, comes from the Persian word for "soil" by way of Hindustani, the lingua franca of northern India and Pakistan. It was first used in a military uniform by the Corps of Guides of the British Indian Army in 1848, at least partly because road marches in the arid North-West Frontier tended to leave uniforms so dust-covered as to render the original colours tad meaningless and partly because the warlike Afghan mountain tribes'* penchant for skirmish tactics and long-range sniping made reducing troop visibility an unusually attractive prospect. Economic and practical, it gradually became the British Army standard and started appearing in civilian clothing from the turn of the century onwards (WW2 being the major popularity breakthrough).

*who in the usual fashion of pugnacious mountain tribes everywhere basically recognised no laws beyond their own and were perpetually out of fucks to give; the Afghan ones are still at it and can by now reasonably claim to have stymied the armies of no fewer than three superpowers

"Goddammit!! I khaki'd my britches!"

The world's solar power is crossing a threshold. A decade ago, it barely registered on a global scale, providing just 1% of the world's power. In 2026, it will almost certainly increase to 10% of power, and overtake nuclear, a mainstay of electricity since the late 1970s.

Globally, solar electricity generation quietly overtook nuclear power (just) in 2025, according to statistics from UK-based energy think tank Ember. And BBC analysis of Ember data over the past 12 months up to September 2026 shows it clearly outstripping nuclear, producing 13% more power.

"[Solar] generating more electricity than all the world's nuclear power plants is a pretty insane stat, for sure," says Dave Jones, co-founder of Ember.

From China's vast arrays to a recent solar upsurge driven by escalating oil prices, the incredible rise of solar power has defied all projections. Here are seven ways it has become an apparently "unstoppable force" – and what the future looks like from here.

Just bit the bullet last week and signed up for solar. The battery drives the cost up considerably, but I don't see the point of not having one.

GrannysKnitting's avatar

it only makes sense for people who are home all day running appliances to have solar without a battery (so retirees for example). if you work, you need a battery to see the benefit of you panels on the cost of your bills

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

Literally had baby solar panels as nerd toys 40 years ago. All of this was obvious to me.

Jimmy Carter had solar panels on the WH. This isn't new technology. It's been stifled by big oil. Those days are ending.
