So a couple of years ago I had accumulated 4 small IRAs from various jobs. I knew The Dotard would fuck up the stock market, so I combined 3 of them and put them in a Guggenheim account where they may not gain much, but would not lose value. My remaining Roth IRA I kept because it was performing well. I got a statement today, and since February it has lost 25%. So glad I moved the others elsewhere.

I disagree. I think she's smart enough, but I think she's evil.

I dunno. I know someone who had to work with her and she said she could barely read.

Ok, at the risk of losing my Elizabeth Warren Lovin', Bernie Surpportin', and especially Wonkette lovin', anarco-socialist cred, I'm going to say that even though I did not vote and would never vote for DeWine even if it would save my nana who's not around anymore but anyway even so, I've actually been impressed with DeWine's handling of the crisis, and especially impressed with Amy Acton. Their daily press conferences have been master classes in how to present the case for urgent action, what the reasons behind the actions are and how those types of decisions are reached. And Acton has actually been an amazingly lucid explainer on virology and how health practices now are the difference between a barely managed crisis and a disaster with thousands to tens of thousands dead. I work in a hospital and regardless of procedure everything's on pause. My co-worker who had back surgery for a ruptured disk scheduled, and is in constant pain, had her surgery canceled as while it is serious it is not life threatening. Do I think that republican's are scum enough to use the crisis to push under the radar an anti-abortion agenda? Absolutely. But in counter argument, every piece of equipment, ppe, medication, resource saved today could mean another life saved tomorrow. If it comes to the worst possible outcome. Hopefully we'll skirt the edge of that, but as a number of physicians have remarked, in the early stages of this you think you're being over cautious and excessively planning for the worst contingencies and on the back end you realize you were always behind the curve from day 1...

Still not a big fan of DeWine but props where props are due.

Another attack on women' citizenship. We are people, not sperm lockers.

It doesn't matter what you 'believe.' Being kept pregnant against your will is slavery. Sperm are not godz messengers. They are not sacred.

Abortions are only elective procedures if you think that carrying a foetus to term has no risks to the life of the mother, and no knock on effects to other people in proximity to her. A pregnant person cannot wait for this situation to ameliorate. Comparing it to back surgery is wrong-headed.

There isn't enough PPE for all, but don't fucking throw women with a pregnancy they don't want and can't care for under the bus because of government ineptitude!

Pregnancy and childbirth ARE life-threatening, even when wanted.

I’m in still-fairly-sane MN, so it was fine, but it was kinda shitty to get the insurance bill for an “elective surgical abortion,” and it drove home to me that people think they can draw some kind of moral bright line between the conversations about miscarriage and abortion, but it’s just not that easy.
