Also, no propane or propane accessories in this election Our Senate roundup this week moves to Ohio ("The Land Of Burning Rivers"), yet another of the states in which Democrats have a fairly good chance of flipping a Senate seat that went Republican in the Great Tea Party Massacree of 2010. The Republican incumbent, Rob Portman, is one of those first-termers from the Class Of 2010, though he's not quite as high on the endangered list as Illinois Sen.
I need to disagree on the Mt. McKinley thing. That was really Ohio vs Alaska before some right-wing dipshits decided to make it left vs right. Republicans and Democrats in Alaska supported reverting the mountain to its original name of Denali, and Republicans and Democrats in Ohio wanted to keep it as McKinley. Even if he wasn't as publicly outspoken on the issue (and kind of dodged the question when asked), I'm pretty sure Strickland was #TeamMcKinley.
I was born in Ohio, and for my parents it was entirely a career move. Back in the 80s, the University of Cincinnati had one of the top ranked residencies in the country, so my dad, preparing to graduate from med school, really wanted to go there. My mom, being a flight attendant, realized she could live pretty much anywhere that had an airport, so they decided to spend four awkward years there, not having much in common with most of the people they met. At the end of those four years, they fled, but there is at least one reason for living there temporarily.
It was all downhill when Evan Bayh got by on his dad's name. Just a Midwestern WASP prelude to Andrew Cuomo.
Aww, I call that Weekend Nice Time. You took care of kitty and did not end up with turds all over the house.
My Weekend Nice Time: I planted a sapling.

I did it for the free beer...
I know a few Alaskans and to hear them tell it, no one there called in McKinley ever.
I thank thee for thy words of wisdom, and shall be certain to correct myself anon!

I lived in AK for 10+ years, and yeah, it was always Denali.
As it should be.
Western Washington state. Not everywhere, but we rest easy where we live.
Just nod and smile.
Honestly, it's all that 's needed.
