This Monday, the NRA announced that noted weapons trafficker and former convicted felon Oliver North would be their new President. In a world that made some kind of sense, one would think that Oliver North, of all people, would be the exact opposite of the image you would want to present, but here we are in 2018 where literally nothing makes any sense ever.
Legit question: Have people like North always used such hyperbolic nonsense language, or is it just that they've been given license by Trump's inability to describe anything without calling it the best, the worst, or something that's never been seen before?
All the things said about North in 1994 can be said about Trump today. Almost verbatim. Twenty-four years later, we're living the nightmare the writer predicted. Wheee!
I think I shall add Neo-Fruitcake Party to my lexicon.
You have to forgive Ollie, because he grew up a poor black boy on a back-swamp sharecroppin farm before he turned into a rich white man fighting on the radio for his political superiors in the D.C.
Consider the source - David Hackworth. He has been called (and I haven't verified this) "The most decorated member of the US Military" to have served in Viet Nam. He spoke out about the unnecessary deaths from booby traps - and many years later, we lost far too many fine young men and women to IED's in Iraq.
"Having behind us the commercial interests and the laboring interests and all the toiling masses, we shall answer their demands for a gold standard by saying to them, you shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns. You shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold."-William Jennings Bryan, Cross Of Gold Speech, 1896
So, yes, they have always been hyperbolic. Interestingly he also said this in the same speech,
"The income tax is a just law. It simply intends to put the burdens of government justly upon the backs of the people. I am in favor of an income tax. When I find a man who is not willing to pay his share of the burden of the government which protects him, I find a man who is unworthy to enjoy the blessings of a government like ours."
No, the NRA are a full on fascist terrorist death cult. I am not even joking, I'm serious. And I'd like to see more on the intriguing flows of Russian money to the NRA, because if you want to destroy America from within, that would be a good way to do it.
So ... did they hire him as president because the NRA is looking toward diversifying into the growing and rewarding field of arms smuggling?
As long as I don't activate the banhammer.
...now??

He will get that million new members even if he has to use the names of a million dead people buried in graves across the country.
That, that, that, that, that, that, that, that (whew!) that, that, th......

Good old Ollie. Still the same shameless, sanctimonious, criminal butt munch that he has always been.

Magnificent quote ! North was mostly behind a desk in the Marines . His maudlin War Stories on Faux was the Laurence Welk of military history .

An armed society is a polite society, hence civil?
I'm sure there have been close to a million people killed by guns.
I heard the news thought WTF TF TF TF?
