"The top 20 percent of the people pay 95 percent of the taxes. The top 10 percent of the people pay 81 percent of the taxes".

Dok, perhaps you could point out that that is a fucken lie? A quick look shows that as far as income tax is concerned, the top 20% of households pay less than 70%, not 95%. And the top 10% obviously pay less, probably about 50%. That's federal income tax. My understanding is that the very wealthy pay even less, proportionately, on all the other taxes. And that's not including income(s) not subject to US taxes...

PS. Quick check says when you consider all taxes, the top 10% contribute 48% and the top 20% contribute 63%. If you think of it in terms of relative shares of rich and non-rich, 48-52 is very different from 81-19 (by a factor of 4.5), and 63-37 is fucking not similar to 95-5 (by a factor of more than 10).

Trickle is down. Going up, it's more of a big slurping sound.

Mnuchin is so full of shit. The rich pay 40% of FEDERAL taxes. This is because they own something like 60% of all the wealth. They are already paying less than they should be. This also does not take all other taxes in to account like FICA, property, and sales taxes. Oh, and after you've earned your first $125,000, you're exempt from further FICA taxes, so the Koch brothers probably contribute about $10,000 a year towards AS and Medicare.

Duct tape? Elitist! Chewing gum scraped from the bottom of chairs at the soup kitchen is all you need!

Check my post above, they are currently paying less than they should, both as a percentage of their income, and as a percentage of what they own.

I am very sorry, but it is time to demand states rights and claim federal monies collected in any given state can only be spent in said given state.People are going to get hurt no matter what happens. It is sort of tough love at this point, really. We could set up some gofundme to float the poors and vunerable /directly/ until the uppercrust realize that in order to keep the tap running, they have to play nice. Should not take long.
