There will never be an Ebola epidemic in this country. Unfortunately all of the media attention is distracting from the real health crisis in America. Right now there is a growing epidemic of Stupid that threatens all of us. Stupid can be spread from generation to generation and is right now spreading rapidly.

Doctors say that Stupid is carried in the testicles of the male and the ovaries of the female and is spread by simple fluid exchange. While you cannot catch Stupid directly from an infected subject it is likely that it will be passed to a third party. Stupid has an incubation period of about 9 months and the symptoms can last 40 or 50 years or more. An infected subject can continue to spread Stupid from adolescence well into old age.

So what can you do? If you encounter a person infected with Stupid, refrain from having sex. if this is not possible due to your circumstances then please, please use protection. If you begin to feel the symptoms of Stupid yourself follow these steps: Isolate yourself. Speak to no one. Under no circumstances have sex with anyone. If this fails you may have to end it all. If we work hard, maybe we can end the scourge of Stupid in our lifetime.

In Cuomo's defense, this wasn't a fundamental science vs. religion question, but rather it had to do with how to regulate the use of a specific new extraction technology in order to insure public safety and protect the environment. In fact there actually is some dispute regarding whether shale gas extraction via hydraulic fracturing can ever be done safely. It's a relevant issue in New York since the Marcellus and Utica shale formations extend into much of the upstate area.

Banning kids from saying "fuck" is a surefire way to suppress their use of it. The policy sure worked out great back when I was that age, which was why I fucking never ever uttered the fucking word, nor did any of my fuckhead friends and classmates. Fuckin' A, man.

Republican/Tea Party wing candidate Astorino was taking Governor Cuomo to task for declaring a moratorium on fracking within NY State. The hold is temporary, pending the completion of an environmental impact review by the state Department of Environmental Conservation. Astorino was criticizing the moratorium because he opposes any restrictions on the practice. Cuomo was justifying the current approach and indicating that he wanted to allow the DEC to complete its review. This wasn't a weasily "Gee, I don't know because I'm not a scientist" type of answer. Cuomo was referring to a specific study by the state that is currently underway, one that challenger Astorino was or should have been fully aware of. <a href="http:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/new-york-state-of-fracking-a-propublica-explainer" target="_blank">" rel="nofollow noopener" title="http://www.propublica.org/article/new-york-state-...">http://www.propublica.org/a...

There was more to that answer than you think. See above.

The socialists who have Ebola are spreading it around, just like they do with money.

I was just counting a nickel per swear. I haven't checked the exchange rate lately. Lemonade and psychiatric help are still a nickel, right?

Donald Trump has a greater chance of dying in a tragic hairpiece accident than from Ebola.

Editrix, don't you think it's time to dismiss us early and just send everyone home now?

Well, neither are they, they're engineers and engineers typically don't give a fuck about anything, least of all environmental issues.

He had a 100.3 fever the morning <i>after</i> he was out and about, and he promptly turned himself in. Since he claims to have been monitoring his temperature twice a day, I'm guessing that he didn't have a fever when he went out for the evening.

If he did, that <i>would</i> be pretty irresponsible.

I don't feel very good and it just might just be the Ebola's so I should probably go home early today.

I am not a scientist but I occasionally solve highly complex electrical design problems for money and fun. It seems to me pumping tons of water into the ground that has been polluted with chemicals that the oil companies keep secret and not expecting those chemicals to show up ever again is pretty fucking stupid. But then, like I said, I am not a scientist.
