Sometimes it's hard to be a woman. Actually, it's hard most of the time -- thanks, MEN -- but it's especially hard if you're a woman running for office: Last week, a statewide official in Georgia accused Democratic Senate candidate Michelle Nunn of cashing in on her father's reserve of political goodwill during her campaign. This is true, but she's definitely not alone. Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Kentucky Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) also happen to have famous political dads and have run ads featuring their parents. They have mentioned their parents at events. In fact, no one voting this year could ever forget the connection.
What I recall about it from the 2000 campaign, the view regarding W's famous family name was almost entirely glowing and positive. The consensus was that it instantly gave him cred, and the Republicans just luuurrrrved the fact that he was the former President's son. So the Bush name didn't hurt, it helped. Some Dems grumbled, but no one from their side made a big deal about it. Their nominee had a famous political last name, too. There have been dozens, if not hundreds, of candidates from well-known political families in our electoral history. This hardly newsworthy.
Why am I not seeing this in my local market??? I sure beats the hell out of the derp (from three states) that has been polluting my teeeveee and raising my blood pressure for the past six months.
Elizabeth Lynne Perry, wife of Phillip Perry, partner in a prominent DC law firm. Don't recognize the name? Perhaps that is because she is better known as Liz Cheney.
So all that yelling an whining back in the 1992 campaign, when Hillary wanted to keep Rodham and the rightwingers thought that was just not wifely enough? I'm looking forward to Fox Outrage demanding that she return to her maiden name so as not to capitalize on her husband's fame.
Speaking of the Bush family, Jeb's son moved out of Florida and established residency in Texas so he could be on the ballet for Texas Land Commissioner. I'm fairly sure that a majority of my fellow Texans are stupid enough to elect this pin dick. Unsurprising is his web site - it has nothing about proposed policies or what he'll do for the citizens. It's just bullshit tweets and how to send this shit stain money.
When he is elected I can't wait to see photos of him cutting brush.
i don't know. 'shut the hell up' seems a pretty reasonable response to most everything nowadays.
but maybe that's because i'm stuck in a hospital (doing outreach) and there is no one here and no one interested in Obamacare and all i hear is wolf blitzer on never ending ebola loop.

The criticism of Nunn is pure BS.

I'm voting for Nunn, of the above.
So, Putin is on FB?
Republicans are just sad that they all can't change their last name to Reagan.
Oh good, now I can order the potato salad AND the latkes, and feel virtuous about it. I am saving NYC heritage!
