I never became an Excel expert because I only used it for one thing. Word works well enough.

I'm more worried about an *absence* of speech, because the commercial demise of journalism has a two-fold effect. One, it directly removes some opinionated discourse from the public sphere (e.g. opinion columnists, etc.), and two, it removes the raw material that 'free speech' worth listening to requires: accurate, relevant information.

Considering that Nvidia has bet their company a few times over that the AI boom is not a bubble, they have just a bit of bias. AI is using AI to promote itself!

I was in one of those "Intro to AI" webinars recently because my boss and her bosses really really really REALLY wants me to start using AI for reasons. Said webinar was, predictably, a total joke and was basically "yes, we know AI sucks but if we don't use it, we'll be left behind." Fuck that. My English PhD can (and does) run circles around any computer-generated shit, and I know so because I frustrated CoPilot so badly that it finally gave up.
That's the excuse the AI bros use for continuing its use even when there is danger- but, but, China will get ahead of us. Everything is a race against the enemy or a competition.
They want you to use it because they spent a lot of money on it and don't want to admit it was a waste. I have yet to find anythign CoPilot does that I can't do faster and better on my own, so I don't bother with it.
The biggest waste of time sexual harassment courses I took were the ones I got when I was in the military. Besides, ripping stripes off of uniforms worked a lot better.

I am in the habit of appending "-ai" to my Google searches. It suppresses the AI summary, and the page comes up much faster.
