I was going to post about this, you gave a great synopsis! One reason these folks are hating on the Gov, even beyond gay n Jewish, are the red flag laws that now even their Grate Leader has proposed.
I was wondering what they think about the free, all day kindergarten classes that just got implemented (he promised, he delivered) because they can’t even follow basic kindergarten rules like, “Don’t be a sore loser.”
'Lake Tahoe' was used as a metaphor for the color blue, also the color used in reference to the members of the Democratic Party. So, in other words, "Although Oregon is reliably blue, the entire state isn't like [deep blue, like] Lake Tahoe." https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
True, but it definitely isn't in Oregon, so the political comparison struck me as odd.
I'm not even sure the Tahoe area is particularly liberal, though I guess that depends on how far you extend the lines. The core area is pretty liberal, but Placer County overall is deep red.
I guess that makes sense. It just didn't occur to me that they were comparing the meme for a political party to the literal blue of a lake. It also requires that the reader know that Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful, clear blue lakes around.
As far as I know there are no deep red lakes, but if they are they'll be in Repub territory and full of pollution.
A friend bought what he thought was his dream home outside of Portland in a rural area. Unfortunately for him the guy next door (this was the 80s) was some kind of nutty militia type (my friend was Jewish), a raving anti-Semite, and in general terrifying. He murdered their cat (on their property), he shot his guns over the roof of their house often, and in general made their lives hellish. The local police just shrugged and did nothing...”until he kills you our hands are tied”. My friend moved (and did not tell the new owner about the neighbor). Oregon is has a goodly number of white supremacists and other horrors.
They're going to disqualify every signature from people who objected to the recount effort (grift though it was) in 2016 or ever burbled about Clinton and her supporters being sore losers, right?
grover norquist dusted off that turd about 20 years ago, because 1. "democratic" sounds right and good, and 2. "democrat party" has "rat" right there in the name.

losing elections Badly just give's republicon a chance to do something they are very good at whining like a bunch of pissy little bitches
I'm going to be very interested if they can get enough signatures without cheating. I confess, I have doubts. Republicans need to cheat to win.
Every heard of Paul LePage of Maine?

Right??
I actually like the saying. It may be because I interpret it when they try to hit below the belt, smash them in the mouth. (With votes, of course.)

Why are Big Energy, Big Pharma and a lot of other Huge, High-Profit Conglomerates receiving massive subsidies? I'd bet that the answer is the same. 😒
sounds like a Scooby Doo episode - "those meddling kids!"
we need an equivalent: I've tried Replicant but most people don't get the joke. Repugnicans? Repulsicans?
or crater lake!
