A compass always points north

For Bodhi, that's not so

He finds it advantageous

To circle the whole bowl

It's not cuz he is dizzy

He certainly is not

He just gets very busy

Devouring the whole pot.

It is so very important for the puppy to rotate counterclockwise as much as clockwise.

This is known as a balanced diet.

I seldom get good fawn photos, but this might be my best one so far. I saw one a couple months ago, and now their spots are fading, so they're going to look all grown up soon, and there won't be any more of these darlings until next summer. Anyway, enjoy.

OK, does it sound like Michelle Wu sounds like a good replacement for Senator Professor Warren? I think she’s one of the greatest people in American public life, but she’s also in her mid-70s and should be able to retire to spend time with her hot young Marine boy-toy.

I only found out about the Turnip being mostly dead at a work meeting this afternoon, because I was too busy being blissfully ignoring of anything that wasn't related to college football all weekend.

The bread and circuses are getting stupid expensive, though. I discovered my favorite secret free parking spot had been taken over by the athletics association, and they now wanted $40 for the privilege of parking. My goal for the remainder of the season is to find ways to pay NOTHING.

I haven't been paying much attention to "Trump live or dead" When reports surfaced that he was seen going to play golf and then that the Secret Service was keeping reporters 100 yard away I wondered if that really was Trump or a body-double. Since they were always talking about Biden having a body-double it seems entirely reasonable that they might try to pass one off. Although "why" remains a mystery.

My sole moment of optimism since the 'election' was falling asleep before "Trump Dead" hit the interweebs. Checking the feed in the AM was the best "Wait, what?" 15 seconds of my life.

However, Stinky has an expiration date, hopefully sooner than I. So there's that

One of my peeves (not pet peeves; I have cats for that) is the continuing delusion that Florence Nightingale was a nurse. She was not. She was the kick-ass administrator who made nursing into a real, respected profession. She was also a brilliant statistician. It is typical of our culture that she is made to seem lesser than she was. She didn't nurse patients; she changed an entire broken nursing system and saved a lot of lives.

I would vote for Platner if he got the nod if only to give Susan Collins the boot but honestly the guy doesn't have the qualifications to be in the Senate. It's great he's a veteran and oyster farmer. Tommy Tuberville coached college football and Herschel Walker could really run the ball.

That being said, Vote Platner!

Herschel Walker was at the Georgia game over the weekend, for the first time as an actual graduate of the university.

Of all the harsh truths that came out during his failed Senate campaign, the fact that he hadn't graduated probably rankled him the most, and was a bit of yikes level embarrassment for the university too. They worked with him, and now they're working with other players who went to the NDL before graduating, to help them get the classes they needed to complete their degrees. They are honoring the remainder of the scholarships in exchange for brand ambassadorship. Pretty reasonable deal to me.

Anyway, I hope he NEVER runs for office again, but he's now slightly more qualified on paper than he was before.

"Is Trump already dead? Or only mostly dead?"

The supposed proof of life picture on the golf course looks like shit, or more like shit than usual. He doesn't just look fat -- not solid fat from eating food -- he looks puffy and bloated, like he's retaining fluid and toxins.

His eyes look blank, and his mouth is hanging open, like he doesn't know who he is or where he is.

And notice (if you can bring yourself to look at his pictures again) that he looks BALDER. There's no hair sticking out around the part of his ears and neck below the cap. Either the hat is bigger, or it fits more loosely because there's no hair at ALL underneath it. If he really did have a stroke/TIA/whatever, they may have shaved his head.

So you've heard of jumping the shark...

Recortes are a style of Spanish bullfighting where the bull is not harmed and recortadores must dodge charging bulls acrobatically without the use of capes or props, i.e. solely with their own body's movements. It is traditional to the Spanish regions near the Ebro river, Basque Country, Madrid, Extremadura and Valencia. It has been proposed as an alternative to traditional bullfighting corridas as the animal is not harmed or killed.

IIRC, there are ribbons and whatnot tied to the bull's horns and the recortadores must pluck them without getting gored

I had a 2 AM in the morning aha insight into what might be going on with Wanda and her liver and her appetite. I am making a run into the vet to be there hopefully when they open. This is kind of a Hail Mary pass, but I don’t think we can afford to wait for the wheels to grind out an approval for her ultrasound anymore that might show us what’s going on. I think she just has a very limited window so we’re making a run for it. I’m so glad to know. I’ve got you guys to turn to for support..
