And entirely as predicted, the Speaker had to tell the children to stop the car and let the grown-ups drive until we weren't <em>quite</em> so close to that big ol' cliff. It is, of course, entirely predictable that he will now let the kids back in the driver's seat, where they will proceed to drive straight for the abyss once more.

He may have the excuse that it's because he has the Worst Caucus Ever, and he does, but Boehner's still a compelling candidate for the title of Worst Speaker Ever.

81-18...Wait...only 99 senators voted. Who was missing? Am I wrong to assume that NJ's interim Senator was still allowed to vote the day his immediate successor was being elected, or did he already high-tail it out of there?

Ok so on the 16th of October, my birthday, they voted to raise the debt limit until February 7th...which is my little brother's birthday. Odd coincidence.
