One word: Photograph. One of the best f'ing songs from any of the former Fabs. Written while he was vacationing with Peter Sellers.

And while it is well-known that George Harrison co-wrote the Cream hit "Badge" with Eric Clapton, what is less well-known is that Ringo was an uncredited contributor to that song as well.

Ringo gave the most memorable and distinctive performance of any of the Fab Four in the movie "A Hard Day's Night." His acting in that movie was well-recognized at the time and has continued to be lauded ever since. He also gave that movie its title. He wasn't too shabby in the follow-up movie, "Help" either. Pardon the pun, but Ringo was the real "star" of both movies.

Ringo Starr basically invented rock drumming. His revolutionary style was a key element of the Beatles' sound and played a major role in their success. In their recording sessions he was the most solid and consistent musician; performance breaks caused by him were extremely rare.

You could perform an excellent public service, then!

Next time you spot those kids walking alone, you could either kidnap them for a few hours or hit them with your car. Either way, it will clarify the situation to the parents and take the strain off the staff at Child Protective Services. This is what citizen activism is all about!

Wait til the authorities in Silver Springs encounter Halloween.

I have fond Halloween memories of roving in a parentless, masked pack in my very sketchy neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, ringing doorbells of strangers, eating candy that was not pre-sealed in the store, and then encountering packs of older kids, who inevitably appropriated our boxes of Unicef pennies with suave efficiency.

The joy of being out on the streets after dark without adults was inexpressible.
