You are probably just as surprised as we are to learn that a new documentary film details how Pat Robertson ran a fake charity following the 1994 Rwandan genocide -- which is to say, not the least bit surprised.
Sadly, it's what actually goes on in Africa; the donors conveniently ignore the fact that the drugs are worthless when they take a tax deduction for the "charitable contribution." Fortunately, acetaminophen has an actual shelf life of ca. forever, so at worst Robertson is merely a tax cheat with this Ton-of-Tylenol stunt.
"The Third Man" deals with fake/diluted drugs - something that also goes on a lot in Africa. About 1/3 of all drugs on the shelf in Africa are fake, counterfeit, or expired, or contain barely enough drug to pass identifying tests. Probaby the international crime with the most deaths per dollar -- the fuckers behind it kill millions -- and yet the fewest convictions. (For additional outrage, consider that the movie was made in 1949.)
Pat Robertson ('Pat' is a nickname, he was christened Marion Gordon Robertson) has amassed a fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars. He has a son lined up to continue his 'work' as do the sons of Jerry Falwell and Billy Graham. Dynasties in religion are worse than those in politics.
" On the other hand, Operation Blessing did send bibles and “enough Tylenol to supply all of Zaire,” according to one volunteer, so it would be inaccurate to say they did nothing."
"And the filmmakers somehow neglected to mention the twelve truckloads of Vioxx that we dropped off, too."

Amaro Averna or GTFO.
Not exactly a "call" . . . "Sending Pat home" is a bit more accurate, if you know what I mean.

If he squeezes his little rat eyes more tightly shut, perhaps his head will implode like a black hole.
or dirt.
Religion been berry berry good to him.
I read that as Benny Hill, and it made a lot of sense.
Well said.
it's really good if you slow cook it for a few hours and use a decent dry rub
if he was a roadie he'd be too busy pushing boxes to be writing all that stuff
Fat, hideous camel, meet needle.
Tha'ts what I told him.

And Dick was such an asshole because he couldn't get it down pat.
Wikipedia estimates his wealth from 200 million to 1 billion. The American Dream.
