Somewhere in New York, in a penthouse high above the clouds, Sister Margaret Ellen Noonan gazed out a window and imagined the world below. On the movie screen of her mind, she saw grown men sitting in leather armchairs in well-appointed clubs, snifters of brandy in hand, debating well-intentioned but ill-founded strategies. She watched as these men of good but misguided will complained that the Halfrican Prince in the White House had not come to them on bended knee to do their bidding, but also to lead them, and to negotiate from strength, but also acquiescence, or something. Sister Margaret sighed wistfully and swirled the sherry glass into which she had poured her 9 A.M. tincture of opium. This world beneath the clouds certainly was a strange one. She needed to speak to someone who would confirm all of her instincts, and not say anything that might cause a reevaluation of preexisting biases. And she had to do it quickly, as she had a
the only question now is when the plutocrats are going to dive over the seat and attempt to wrest back control of the steering wheel. Trouble is, they are going to learn the painful lesson that it's not as easy as they expected it to be
Rumor has it that Rafalca is a strict vegan = a hippy socialist RINO. Plus... the name Rafalca sounds a bit Mooselamby... and grab the smelling salts... Rafalca is BROWN! BROWN! I tell ya!
I adore Wonkette for so many reasons; this article is a fine example. I cannot tell you how much joy it offers and fits of boisterous laughter that are provided by the writers and the posters here. I could only ever dream of being as brilliantly funny as everyone here.
That being said, while the following observations I've made on the interwebs over the past few days aren't humorous I am certain you are all quite capable of turning them into something worthy:
1.) Speaking of Saint Ronald of the Reaganshire: while the TP have been tripping over their dicks to get to the next photo op with the vets they locked out of the national parks - why hasn't anyone brought up his fine work with the Anti-Deficiency Act that he shot anabolic steroids into way back in 1982? Oh I know... it's way more fun to blame Bamz for purposely shooting those poor innocent vets in the face with his blah gun but they could really use some new material. That's sooo 2008.
2.) As much as I despise the GOP I never expected them to be so terrified of such a small percentage of the population. FFS... we are talking about a fraction of all the votes cast for the TP caucus candidates in 2010 & 2012 (this even includes those who lost!):
2010 General Election % of all votes House:4.95% Senate:1.55%
2012 General Election % of all votes House:5.98% Senate:4.96%
And since they are effing with our entire country (not just those who vote) look at these percentages:
2010 General Election % of US Population House:2.08% Senate:0.64%
2012 General Election % of US Population House:2.37% Senate:1.47%
Rant over... please proceed with the much needed humorous commentary. Muah!
What did Karl Rove say about this damn game of political capital?
"The next time one of your smarty-pants liberal friends says to you, 'Well, he didn't have a mandate,' you tell him of this delicious fact: This president got a higher percentage of the vote than any Democratic candidate for president since 1964."
Rove was talking about Dubya's 2004 51% victory. Hey! That's the same as Obama in 2012. Obama has a mandate!

Ah, James Baker! The Bush family butler and fixer.
Long before Roe v Wade while he was governor of California, Reagan legalized abortion.
Jeeze, the image you're using for this. Sister Margaret: I'm ready for my close-up Mr Baker
I have this fantasy where the tea party was in force during Ronnie's era and they are just dick slapping the hell out of each other.
Tyranny is the new black.
Show some Baker-style leadership, Barry! Demand everything, and then settle for 80% of everything.
See, by losing, Republicans have a stronger mandate.
Who would have thought the government shutdown would shut down the government?
What to do, what to do.
