They are serious about regaining power at any cost.

Any. Cost. Especially if that cost is one they won't have to personally bear (and this is one such cost).

Depriving people of the right to vote could turn out to be incredibly costly for them.

"Battlefield Earth" is like taking a bus trip with someone who has needed a bath for a long time. It's not merely bad; it's unpleasant in a hostile way. The visuals are grubby and drab. The characters are unkempt and have rotten teeth. Breathing tubes hang from their noses like ropes of snot. The soundtrack sounds like the boom mike is being slammed against the inside of a 55-gallon drum. The plot. . . . https://www.rogerebert.com/...

Overseas military personnel have an "excuse." It's just the folks who want to vote by mail for "no good reason," such as trying to avoid covid or needing to work on election day.

As long as the GOP cheats, they win. The more they win, the more laws passed and judges appointed whose job it will be to keep a real democracy away from the citizens of the USA.

Looking forward to the day (soon I hope) when I hear about GOP skulduggery that doesn't lead off with a screed from TFG

As long as they allow "provisional" voting that they can then ignore far too many people assume that things are OK. In this forum I've seen people observe that they cast a provisional vote, and they were sure that whatever the problem was it would be worked out and their vote would be counted. It doesn't work like that unfortunately. Provisional ballots are almost *never* counted, even if they were cast provisionally because the machines in the precinct were broken.
