It will take us a very long time to repair and get over the worst of Trump. We have lost our place in the world, although we will likely be forgiven in a couple of generations.
Politics has failed us and completely lost all respect as a force for good, fairness, justice or anything positive to help us. It is somewhere Nazi propaganda and shopping channel hustlers on any given day.
His lesser disasters may be fixed somewhat, in time. And the damages of his cronies.
But his thinking, his attitude, his beliefs will stay with some people forever. And be passed on.
There are still people in this country that believe the South should have won the Civil War.
Not coincidentally, many are the same people! All because we couldn't have a girl prez.
If more senators start complaining on the record, then kegsbreath will have accomplished something no other politician has accomplished in the history of the USA. He will have forced some GOP senators to grow a bit of backbone. Shocking. Absolutely shocking. But, it hasn't happened yet.
"Systemic friction" is what Kommandant Kegseth applies to himself to up his T-score. In countering narcotics trafficking, however, it's just another cog in the War On Drugs machine that keeps the DEA flush with funding, the prisons packed, and the traffickers raking in the cash.
"We" won WWII in large part by out-producing the Axis. And now we are running out of munitions after a few weeks of a minor war? How come the vast majority of the American people (i.e., excluding the terminally lunatic Trump anus-suckers) are not screaming about this and demanding immediate removal of such blazing incompetence? And they have the gall to ask for yet another half-trillion on top of the one trillion they already can't manage properly? Why should we put up with this for even one second? If the established, constitutionally mandated methods are failing, maybe it's time for stronger measures? This is not a joke, people. This is not an exercise. This is something really, really bad happening. It's no good for us to be a deer-in-the-headlights. We may need to become the grandfather-tossing bison.
>Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said Operation Southern Spear was accomplishing “exactly what it was designed to do"< ...obfuscate the focus from the Epstein files, perhaps? On that, foist that "Mission Accomplished!" banner and pop a brewski!
My wonderful congresscritter Becca Balint (the sole rep from Vermont, due to our tiny population) pointed out that Hegseth's obsession with big hunky masculine warfighters is almost certainly homoerotic in origin.
We'd all be better off if he'd just put up Tom of Finland posters all over and get busy on Grindr.
That these perpetually anonymous senators had the confidence to lose in the first place in a drunk weekend morning show host should mean nobody should have confidence in the senators either. This is the person you thought could run the world's largest military?
On one of the prime responsibilities of a leader, in business, politics, or anywhere else, is choosing the right people to lead the subordinate agencies. A leader that picks the right ones is a good leader and succeeds, a leader that picks the wrong ones is a bad leader and fails. Pete's failure is Donnie's failure. Don't let the MAGAts try to separate them. IT'S ALL DONNIE'S FAULT.
Using aircraft to smuggle cocaine isn't a new thing. Pablo Escobar had a small plane he had used for that purpose, mounted overthe gateway to his hacienda/hippo colony.

Maybe we, as a country, kinda deserve it.

Other than misguided wars, the biggest waste of tax $$$ in history,

I’m sure that drug runners will stop just as soon as they’re more afraid of Kegseth than they are of their Cartel bosses…🙄

Let’s give Kegseth SOME credit - he has dumped plenty of his own dumbass people into the DoD.
REP. JACK BERGMAN: "Boy, that's a multi-thousand year old question. I'm not going to blame Jimmy Carter, but ..."
Go on...who sold missiles to Iran? Who made a deal to keep the hostages in Iran until after Carter was out of office?
Ayatollah Khomani on the current state of affairs with the Great Satan: "They got us right where we want them."
Sleeve of Saltines and Gatorade. Persistent stomach bugs.
Did you eat lettuce? Hope you feel better soon.
Wegmans Spring Mix last week.

Ta, Evan. The only epithet I want to hear for Whiskey Pete is The Prisoner in the Dock, at The Hague.
This is all just stiffening Peter's resolve.
Only thing stiff on Whiskey Dick.
Eeeeeew.
We need a couple of more stiffs (or several) like Mitch.
No he’s FINE, FINE I tell you!!!
