The electric line failure was the spark that lit the fuel. Who parked 27,000 people inside a pile of fuel, with no working plan for either evacuation or fire containment? Not PG&E.

Right, so what actions had been planned to prevent spread and limit damage, and why did they fail so badly? Or just maybe, had the town developers created a set-up so fucked up that there was nothing to be done once the fier started?

So, where is the inquest on what happened AFTER the spark?

In their defense, PG&E are the real victims here.

From what I understand Paradise was largely a big old folks’ home.

Now I’m not sure about where you’re from, but in the US people can live where they want to- you can’t chase people out of town for being elderly or disabled. Nor can you kidnap younger people to people your town. I’m sure those nursing homes provided jobs, but it’s not easy regardless.

Now let me ask you: do you have any evidence that Paradise or Butte County dropped the ball on fire preparation? Bear in mind that nursing homes are required to have their own evac plans (I’m sure it’s even more stringent in California than where I trained) and that the Camp Fire was brutally fast and hot.

"Now is not the time for the blame game, dude!!" Nah, actually now is exactly the time for the "blame game," cuz it's no game, it's time to learn why this happened and how to avoid it in the future. (As if we didn't know...)

you seem to be blaming one city for what happened a couple of counties away? stop that!

Thank you for sharing your memories and experience. After fire training both as a civilian and a sailor, I can say I could not do your job day in, day out. Salute!

IT'S VIDEO OF HIM CALLING IT A HOAX! There's no "allegedly" here, he stood up in front of your cameras and said it.

If they're put out of bidness because of their malfeasance, the next guy who comes along will be encouraged to walk the straight and narrow. It won't be "the end of free enterprise," it'll be an improvement on the next generation of "free enterprise." (Wish I could throw in a Mel Gibson "FREEEDOMMMM" gif.)
