Natanyahu really reminds me of an acquaintance of mine. In their case, they have CPTSD from an abusive childhood, diagnosed, but don't seem to think they need professional help working through it. They're locked into a perpetual victim self-narrative. They immediately interpret any disagreement as a personal attack, get upset when people don't immediately take their side 100%, have verbally abused their spouse and adoptive parent, and generally struggle with taking responsibility for the consequences of their behavior.
I am grateful to Michael Mora for watching these useless programs and giving a quick run-down of their uselessness, thus keeping my blood pressure levels within reasonable levels.
I have zero doubt that a complete and honest accounting would reveal that Bibi and his cronies knew about the coming attack and chose to allow it. I won't go so far as to say they actively helped it happen, but that wouldn't surprise me, either, given Bibi's history of support for Hamas. They have been openly having wet dreams for years about what they are now doing to the Palestinians.

I have some people in my life who were part of the back to the land movement back in the 60s. They've been living in northern Saskatchewan in pretty remote places ever since. The anti authority mindset that sent them out there has morphed over time to some weird blend of libertarianism and right wing politics. Not particularly racist, though. It's mostly about "you can't tell me what to do", and there is some glimmer of sense in some of it - living the way they have, they have indeed had to be more self sufficient than normal, and it's been more necessary for them to have to trust their own judgment rather than authority.
Anyway. Just got an email asking for my postal code, and she said "I keep forgetting it, I guess because I don't think we should have to use them". And it's just such an example of a somewhat defensible, somewhat possibly reasonable mindset taken to absurd lengths. Postal codes are in no way shape or form examples of government overreach. They're just a way to make it easier to move vast quantities of mail over a vast country. Nobody is getting information they don't already have, by your postal code - they already know where you live, that's what the address is for. Nobody is controlling you with your postal code. But the "you're not the boss of me and can't tell me what to do" mindset is so ingrained that it's totally lost all contact with reality.
Their daughter was in the process of deciding whether to send her kids to school or homeschool them as she was, just as covid hit. So that decision was sorta made for them, and so grandma and grandpa are teaching the kids. And another generation who will think that postal codes are big brother. Sigh.
This is what happens to people who go live in Outer East Judas. They turn into fascist 'libertarians' and racist, misogynist, atavistic, tribal sociopahts.
