Yeah, there are a lot of things I order on Amazon whenever I run out rather than preemptively because I've lost the will to live and I always follow the tracking very intently because I'm completely out of them. They've suddenly started taking a day longer in the past week, even though they've reliably been 2 days since time immemorial. That's a fucking fact and it's a disgrace to the good name of the 2 day Prime guarantee. I hope Jeff Bezos uses his rich man influence on our government to get that shit back on track.
Not to mention how much this will hurt small businesses. I have been trying to start a side business doing reselling (and it has helped being able to make even a little extra money). Tripling postage rates will be the end of that. Fucking vile and diabolical hacks.
The sad thing is, our postal service seems to be one of the things we get right. It's reliable and reasonably priced. We get delivery six days of the week. They pick up and deliver to homes. I know my nearest tiny post office is staffed by lovely, friendly, helpful people who do right by me. I will be very angry if they are impacted by this. Aussie hubby has always been impressed with USPS even as he has become more and more disgusted by the US in general.
It's complicated in Texas. I have seen a lot of discussion about the fact that you *can* cite disability and that will not be subject to verification by the elections office. The relevant text from the Texas Supreme court decision on this is cited at this page by the League of Women Voters. https://my.lwv.org/texas/vo... I guess you can cite a disability due to health concerns. Knowing how quick Texas is to scream "voter fraud" though, well, I don't know how that plays out in reality. Maybe we have some folks here with more knowledge. Just be sure you surrender your ballot in person (preferably during early voting) if you don't use it.
Fact is, Texas is bullshit when it comes to vote by mail. It should be easy and accessible.
"I'm from the government and I'm here to help myself to your money.""I'm from the government and I'm here to beat you down during your peaceful protest."
I can attest to this. I mail stuff to my son regularly. Mailed a package using their priority mail pre-paid box which I regularly use, last Friday. Was supposed to be 2 day delivery as it has been. He got it yesterday.
I'm thinking October Surprise.

"The CARES Act did authorize the Treasury to loan lend $10 billion to USPS (instead of the outright $13 billion grant the Democrats wanted)."
FIFY
Note the sneer. Trump appointees are issued one the first day.
He reminds me of that hamfaced "acting AG" they had before Low Barr
They all look alike Like the pigs at the end of Orwell's Animal Farm

We need to make him powerless.

Even sadder, at least one of those two Republicans will be on board with it if it owns the libs.
