I got that figure from an op-ed in the Richmond Times-Dispatch - attributed to nameless campaign sources (who added that they really had no clue what it would be). Reports are coming in now that more than 16,000 ballots have been cast, with two more hours to go.
So I’m currently in line in Richmond for the primary. I have been in line for the last 40Minutes- I have never seen so many people come out to vote in one location. The car voting line is about 50 cars deep.
Jennifer McClellan is an awesome legislator and we would be lucky to have her in Congress. I’m hopeful she wins.
This is such a Democrat stronghold district that whoever wins here likely wins the seat. That being said, a lot of people hate Joe so if he won the primary there would be a gop pickup opportunity if people don’t vote
Edit- just to add. Joe m ran for mayor a couple years ago. Another candidate dropped out because he was worried he would split the vote - that is how much people hate him. But his supporters really love him too so who knows
I’ve been in line for 45 minutes and still haven’t made to the front. I expect the numbers to be a whole lot higher just from the line itself. One of the other locations has a car line 1/2 mile long.
So what? What could possibly be in a Democratic elected official's tax return that would come close to matching the shitstorm that Trump's return has to be.
