Tonight, the Senate is expected to vote on a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. This would be very, very bad for anyone who can get pregnant, on account of the fact the vast majority of abortions after this time are due to fetuses with severe, unsurvivable defects.

What worries me is if the Latino population that is rapidly overtaking what they refer to as "Anglos" in Texas and other states go for the same crazy fundamentalism down the road.....Ted Cruz and Rubio suggest it may happen

Yeah, I've been hearing stories. The Evangelicals are actively recruiting proselytising in Latin America, and having great success. Perhaps they don't feel the Catholic Church cares much about them these days. I wonder, though, if they'd be a comfortable fit with the you're-poor-cuz-God-hates-you flavour of evangelism one finds in the US?
