That kitty's never going to get that butterfly.

Looks like a fun game, though!

I didn't notice the butterfly; I thought the kitten was just smelling the flowers. Which, in a way, makes the gif just as much fun.

Can I doppel into that kitten for a while? I have the credits, I swear!

(Anything fun will do, really, just don't choose an anteater, well known to be vile, repellent, nausea-inducing, gorge-rising, botched abortions of the worst abominations of nature.)

Re: Buckley. Don't really want to spend time or money on that either, but this (from the review) does describe me:

But I thought the President* said it was Joe Biden who was assassinated and replaced by a robot. Are you telling me that was a lie?

Probably the first time Trump has ever lied in his life, right?

I've spent the last 2ish hours doing research and poking around the internet from the comfort of my bed.

Being broke is making today feel...awful. sure, a couple days off work is lovely, and I'm glad to be able to just do nothing. But I wish I could do something today. Lunch, maybe a bit of shopping--nothinf outrageous, just stuff I wish I could do.

As for my computer issues: I actually found a replacement that isn't ridiculously overpriced: i5 processor, 8gb RAM, 512gb SSD, mini form factor. And it's remarkably listed for one hundred. Which...yeah, I don't even have that. God damnit

So let me throw this ou there: Anywonk got a desktop they're trying to get rid of?

In the meantime, if you'll excuse a poor half-hearted joke: Maybe I should just find a sugar daddy. Surely someone somewhere would like my deer pics lmao

David Bernstein:

“Nation relies on a credulous idiot for its intelligence” seems like a big, very troubling story to me.

Yeah well, when you have a credulous idiot as president, this is what happens. He either appoints another credulous idiot as DNI or that person has to act like one in order to get him to listen to them.

We sure could have but we were too nice.

We only had sixty Senators on paper. The actual count was 59.

Al Franken wasn't sworn in until July because his opponent kept filing appeal after appeal of the vote count in their election.

Before Franken was sworn in, Ted Kennedy went into the hospital with a brain tumor.

Two things on my radar today!

One! Uber has got all the newses crowing about their new Request a Lady to Drive You policy, and yet my Lyft has been set to request a female driver for forever now!

Two! Why is the Moldy Cheeto whining about how Obama tinkered with an election that he actually won? WHYYYYYYYYYYYY?????????? (We know why)

Two: doesn't matter and should be ignored/responded to with "Why are you in the Epstein files? Did you commit pedophilia like you friend the convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein did?

Why has your Attorney General said there were files and lists, and now she says there aren't?

Is she incompetent or lying to protect you?" And so on.

Oh yes, I agree on this for sure, but it is so WEIRD they are whining about an election he most likely actually won. Like, these people are out of their damn minds.

"Comments not allowed" Is a Wonkette comment thread joke That you will see quite often (there are quite a lot of these, If you are new here, welcome aboard, just don't mention canned clams). It originates from a troll long ago who complained that Wonkette wouldn't allow their comments, when it quite obviously does allow them.

I don't really have the time or energy to hang out a post to my personal subetack, so this will do for now.

I think today is day 12 of my burnout. I've had bad days, and I have had better days. Yesterday was on track to be one of the better days right up until my desktop computer stopped working. Last night, the hard drive started making an odd whining sound and refused to boot. This morning? Won't even turn on.

Of course I can't afford to replace it. Oh sure I could make it somewhere to pick one up, but afford a new computer? I can't even afford the lunch I desperately desire.

Confession: id I could afford it, I'd buy a Mac mini. But that's not for today I suppose.

Same article, by author of article and study:

Trump's “burn it down” style of politics rang true for nonwhite voters who were caught in the maelstrom of compounded financial and social crises, feeling left behind not only by Democrats but by the political establishment in general. Many of the voters I have spoken to say they’re not Democratic or Republican — they are Trump supporters."

"I love the poorly educated." Donald Trump. Voting for change without knowing what that change might be.. what sense does that make?
