A has-been politician takes a job that is funded by tax dollars. Where's the outrage from Fox and the teabaggers?

Yes, if you substitute northern Ontario for the UP, you get the big-government populist NDP. So it's very similar. I find it sad to see this split in Ontario, and there is starting to be a feeling on the Right that they are the "real Ontario", as opposed to the cities with their much higher percentage of immigrant population. As someone whose entire family tree has been growing in southwest Ontario since, at the latest, 1840, this really pisses me off.

Harper is essentially a Teabagger, predating the movement in the States. He was the head of the National Citizen's Coalition (smaller gov't, lower taxes) back around 2000, and one of the founding members of the Reform Party. He also just eliminated the National Firearms Registry. He is, without a doubt, a douche.

And their chant of "master" sounds like they're slaves of some kind. If only someone had <a href="http:\/\/wonkette.com\/498615\/jesus-dont-let-your-daughters-go-to-college-to-turn-into-ugly-feminist-whores" target="_blank">warned</a> them.

Well, he's an ex-state-senator, so I'm not sure what his medical coverage is likely to be. But his old-boy graft package seems to be performing nicely.

The Ontario Liberals started out strongly in 2003, replacing the jack-booted Tories. They never filled the same spot as the federal NDP- the provincial wing of that party is very strong right now. But the last year the Liberals swung to the right to try to steal the Con's fire. What really burned my butt as a teacher is that they imposed contracts on us and then dared to call them "agreements". We got screwed by the NDP in the early 90's, the Cons around 2000, and then by the Liberals this year. However, Wynne, our new fearless leader, was not in favour of the gov't actions, and has promised to try to change things. The real concern in Ontario is that (and this might sound familiar) it is turning into a situation where the Liberals and NDP hold all the urban ridings, while the Conservatives hold all the rural seats. It was really quite sobering to look at the map after the last election. Our rural riding had been Liberal since 1999, but it went Tory in the last election.
