Uh huh so helpful of them to force move the refugees from the city they started bombing. What should Ukraine negotiate btw? How many cities to give up? I know let russian's run their elections, we know they're good at that right?

What the invaders want is someone else's lunch that is tagged and labelled in the fridge. Unfortunately there's ghost peppers in it and they're upset.

There aint no "we". This isn't a proxy war started by the EU or USA or Nato. The ones stretching this out is Russia and they could pull back their troops anytime they like. The Ukraine people are fighting for their land, people and culture so please take your concerns and file them somewhere else. We all know this wont stop with Ukraine or even if parts of it are handed to russia. They already had first breakfast with Crimea and now came back for second breakfast with Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. So should the EU negotiate to keep Hungry, Poland, Romania and Finland free and sacrifice Ukraine?

Your whattaboutism is dishonest and frankly quite grating. Are you also saying the Democratic Republic of the Congo should be diplomatic and negotiations with the ADF?

Wow, there's so much ignorance in that one sentence that I wouldn't know where to start. Ignorance can be fixed by education, you know.

Peace. I thought that was obvious.

Ukraine should just announce they are annexing them right back!

Unlike Ukrainians in the "democratic Ukraine", Russians in "tyrannical Russia" can watch what they want. How do I know? I grew up in Ukraine and follow the events there not by watching CNN, MSNBC or FOX, but by watching the original reporting in Russian and Ukrainian. The coverage of the war in the Western media is pathetic.

Yikes! If you think it is a proxy war Russian Propaganda alert!

Russia wont be happy with "peace" until they have control of all Ukraine. Ukraine, why do you keep hitting yourselves in the face? Why not just roll over like a dog that this russian apologist brian bixby wants you to be.

Oh right nope - Russia pulls back its troups from the Ukraine borders and stops shelling Ukraine - then there might be peace.

So tens of millions can starve to death, that's fine with you as long as no oligarchs are inconvenienced. Sorry, my morals aren't that flexible.

Online discourse is crawling with people who really, truly, sincerely believe that if someone doesn't fully support their government's foreign policy with Russia and believe 100 percent of what their government says about it, it means they love Vladimir Putin and support everything he does. You either believe Putin invaded Ukraine solely because he is evil and hates freedom and support your government's actions against Russia no matter how much it costs or how much it risks, or you love the Kremlin and think Putin is a saint. Those are the only two possibilities. . .

Someone who tells you that you love Putin and believe he's perfect is really telling you that they love their own government and think it's perfect. They see their government as pure and virtuous and worthy of blind obedience, so failure to do so is indicative of nefariousness. - Caitlin Johnstone

Why do you keep trying to frame your concern not for the 37 million people who have been invaded but for some people in other countries. Tell that to the 14 to 28k civilians killed, a number you hilariously lowballed btw

Yes third world countries and other countries have been hit by rising food problems.

It is RUSSIA who has done this. Ukraine hasn't and doesn't have a moral obligation to sacrifice themselves on the handgranade that is a russian oligarchs war and your false troll concern and handwringing is obvious and vapid. If you don't think putin hasn't gotten richer and richer from the Russian people then I don't know what to say to you.

You're the one who thinks that Ukraine should crumble to not inconvenience an oligarch.

Maybe you should ask to borrow one of putin's $27k tracksuits he works out in?

BWAHAHA. You're hillarious. I don't claim to know why putin did invade Ukraine. Adult discussion which isn't just quoting propagand can have nuances. None of which you seem to have.

Noone here especially on wonkette is blindly following their government foreign policy. I just think that countries have the right to defend their own borders and when russia nibbled at different air spaces of European countries. They were right to scramble jets and escort them off.

You're the one trying to frame this as a black and white issue.

The west started the war by expanding NATO too near Russia's borders.

It doesn't, that's my point. The way that broadly Western moralists talk about Ukraine is that anything less than every possible war effort means appeasing Russia or letting Russia maintain Ukrainian territory. Well, you're clearly not doing everything you can to help Ukraine, are you, as you're leaving clear strategic assets aside. So by that logic, you're cool with letting Russia hold on to its territorial gains too. The difference is I want less grinding attritional warfare involved.
