Trump isn’t just compromised—he’s Russia’s greatest success story. Groomed as an asset since 1987, he’s spent decades serving Kremlin interests, whether by pushing Soviet propaganda, laundering Russian money, or inviting foreign interference into U.S. elections. His presidency was a gift to Moscow: undermining NATO, attacking Ukraine, and parroting Putin’s every line. Trump belongs to Putin—body, mind, and ego. And the most pathetic part? He never even realized he was being played.

I’m heartbroken for Ukraine, embarrassed for America and ANGRY AS FUCK that too many of our fellow citizens were stupid, selfish, uninformed, lazy or just plan evil enough that their votes turned us virtually overnight into an Axis Powers level enemy. Fuck these assholes. What a fucking nightmare.

Evan, you got my hopes up with that headline, only to find out that Putin is still very much alive.

Shitforbrains Hegseth is too young to remember that Ukraine ALREADY HAD A SECURITY GUARANTEE--when they gave up their leftover nukes in 1995 in exchange for a SECURITY GUARANTEE from the Russians which Putin tore up and annexed Crimea and later Donbas

Just look up Nevelle Chamberlin and "peace in out time" and tell how well surrender worked out

"and also forbid Ukraine — a sovereign nation — from ever joining NATO."

FWIW, new members of NATO must be approved unanimously by the existing member states, so the US is well within its rights to forbid Ukraine from joining, sovereignty or no.

For as long as the US is a NATO member, anyway.

Trump has to surround himself with losers like Hegseth and Gabbard so he won't feel more like a loser himself, by comparison, than he already does.

"In comments in the Oval Office, Trump suggested that Russia deserved to keep parts of Ukraine: “They fought for that land, and they lost a lot of soldiers.”

Hegseth found himself Trump’s highly unpopular mouthpiece in Europe, surrounded by military and elected leaders of countries where Putin is seen far more negatively than he is by Hegseth’s boss.

“I’d prefer we don’t give away negotiating positions before we actually get started,” said Mississippi’s Roger Wicker, the Republican chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

“It’s pretty well fixed. It’s hard to walk it back when it’s that public, and I’m really more afraid now it’s going to get worse,” John Bolton told HuffPost Thursday. “I mean, when you start from that as the going-in position, you know, who knows what comes next?” “It was a bad day yesterday for Ukraine, but a bad day yesterday for the United States,” he said. “We’ve got a serious national security interest in peace and stability in Europe, and not having borders changed by unprovoked aggression, and a whole host of other things that I just don’t think Trump understands.”

In any case, Trump himself on Thursday showed no interest in walking anything back. “I thought his comments yesterday were pretty accurate,” he said of Hegseth’s Wednesday remarks. He then went on to repeat Putin’s talking points that he was forced to invade to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. “I don’t see any way that a country in Russia’s position could allow them to allow,” Trump told reporters. “I believe that’s why the war started. Because Biden went out and said that they could join NATO.” https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-ukraine-hegseth-putin_n_67ae6717e4b035ea23a4bd53

If I knew nothing else at all about Hegseth, just knowing he has romantic dream fantasies about how noble the Crusades were would convince me he should never be allowed anywhere near any military office higher than company quartermaster. And even that would probably be a mistake.

Somebody please tell President Literally-Too-Stupid-To-Function that the U.S. lost almost half a million lives during WWII, not even remotely close to the truly horrific tens of millions Russia lost. Wanna bet who *does* know the difference between our losses and theirs, probably down to the very last soldier mowed down before the gates of Stalingrad?

I'm still stunned Drunky McDefence Dept. said that we'd have trouble defeating the Russian Navy. The Russian Navy that has to send the boat equivalent of a tow truck out with their flagship because it doesn't fucking work most of the time.
