Monday night, Rachel Maddow was positively giddy about the Supreme Court's decision to let stand lower courts' pro-marriage equality rulings. By Tuesday, she was wondering whether federal courts would figure out that voting is supposed to be a fairly absolute right as well.
Voting fraud occurs at roughly twice the rate of murders in this country. I agree if murders were to jump from around 4.8 per 100,000 to 9 and a half per 100,000, we would have compelling reason to Do Something to Fix the Problem.
But no election ever, in the history of humanity, has or will be decided by 5 votes out of 100,000. No one could possibly accept that as legitimately reflecting the will of the electorate, and no one would ever have a good reason to, which by Human Logic eliminates this twice-the-murder-rate &quot;problem&quot; as a feature of reality, but in Panicky Idiot Logic is <b>TWICE AS BAD AS THE MURDER RATE ZEE OH EM GEE</b> Benghazi!!!11!
