Will the Russian bots participate? Or are they already way too over represented?

That didn't work in 2016 and it's not going to work with the 2020 census.

The fact that the PR push hasn't started for the 2020 census should scare the fucking daylights out of us. EVERYONE should be filling out their census forms.

Will they consider it "incomplete" and toss it? If so, how will we ever know?

You mean like how refusing to vote for Hillary has ushered in a progressive utopia?

Fill out your census forms, Wonketteers. Leave the citizenship question BLANK.

Guessing Kavanaugh is going to claim that the evidence came too late so he can't use it in his decision.

Ayup. He probably won't be the only one to punt on a technicality like that.

Assholes.

Two questions:

1. Will they consider it "incomplete" and invalidate the whole thing?2. Will they pass some other fucked up legislation in the meantime that bases some forms of representation or funding on how many *counted* citizens are in the district?

I wouldn't put either thing or any other heinous shitbaggery past them.

From this article on NPR about the census: https://www.npr.org/2019/03...

Can I refuse to answer a census question? You can skip questions, submit an incomplete census form, and still be included in the head count. But you can be fined for refusing to answer a census question or intentionally giving a false answer, although the penalty has been enforced rarely in the past. Returning a partially filled-out questionnaire may result in a follow-up phone call or visit from a census worker.I followed the link https://www.law.cornell.edu... to see what the penalty is. It's "no more than $100". I think I will answer the question but offer to cover the penalty for someone who wants/needs to refuse. I wonder if there's a fund somewhere for that.

The shitty thing is Roe has always been on shaky legal grounds. All it has ever needed to undo it is a SCOTUS willing to ignore the precedent set and to just roll it back to the individual states to decide.

They have been taking a different tack though. Just chipping away at it.

Casey should have proven that Roe was not safe since the basis of Casey is what constituted an undue burden to the rights garunteed under Roe. Undue burden that is a squishy term decided on a whim. 500 mile round trip? Not an undue burden. 3 day wait? Not an undue burden. Forced ultrasound? No burden there either. And on and on.

I think some of the cases currently pending, not even the largest batch of fuckery, will be decided to further chip away using Casey's squishy language.

Joy deferred is joy missed. I hear you though I am in a business that relies on optimism, every morning it takes a little longer to lie myself into the right frame of mind.

I get your point, but we will be happy where we are. Plenty of joy !

Yeah they have the address but no names or other identifiers I think. So yes, the point is to scare people into not answering, but you aren't signing anything so they should keep saying that to get the point across. Not to encourage lying, just say it won't/can't come back on anyone in particular. If you are Hispanic-looking just say you are from Puerto Rico, those temps doing census won't have any idea if it is true or not. If you look or sound otherwise furrin just check the "born out of US to US citizen box.

Orwell again. One might almost have thought he was thinking again.

I mean, that's the conundrum, isn't it? The Constitution was written by a bunch of property-owning white guys ... which is why we've had so many amendments since then.
