That's a bird, ayup. Oh hey, it is Wednesday afternoon, which means it is time for your weekly dance party, where we shuffle our iTunes, post the first ten songs that come up at random, and you all dance. And you're DEFINITELY going to dance, because unless you have been living inside a rock inside Ted Cruz's anus this week (gross, you!) you know Radiohead has dropped the first single from their upcoming record. It is called "Burn The Witch," and we love it:
Duggar cult founder plans Kansas ‘retreat’ to set up arranged marriages for teen girls.
Wanna hear a true American horror story?
A group of ultra-conservative Christian men are planning to meet up in Kansas later this year to arrange marriages for their pubescent daughters … and they don’t believe their daughters’ consent is actually necessary.
Quiverfull patriarch, Vaughn Ohlman, who runs a website promoting early, “fruitful” marriage for Truly True Christian™ children, has announced plans for a “Get Them Married!” retreat where fundamentalist fathers will find, and TAKE, suitably submissive young brides to bear many babies for their adolescent sons.
In case you’re inclined to doubt these freaks actually mean to marry off their girls the minute their bodies have developed enough to have children, Ohlman elaborates, so make no mistake about it:
The ‘youth’ ready for marriage is ready to bear children. Unlike modern society Scripture sees the woman as a bearer, nurser, and raiser of children. The ‘young woman’ is the woman whose body is physically ready for these things, physically mature enough to handle them without damage.
I don't want a pox upon my family so I'll stop using electrical tape and I'll worship Glue (I may be arrested but if it'll appease the Glue Gods, so be it).
They hate Hillary even more. I hope to god that half the GOP stays home on election day. I also hope she wins in a massive landslide. I also wish Bernie would pack it in so that OUR party could start concentrating on getting her elected.
Yeah, that's what scares me. Trump is already starting to act more normal. I just watched him on CNBC, and also last night on the news. He's getting tons of free advertising, and even though he has zero grasp of the issues, neither do most voters. I'm praying he isn't this generation's Reagan.
I will be positively euphoric if Trump goes down in flames, and takes the rest of the GOP with him. What puzzles me is why the GOP just keeps recycling the same horrible ideas (no regulation! no taxes for the rich!) in new packaging. Instead of sticking with the same horrible ideas, why not come up with some sort of decent plan for America? They also need to admit the culture wars are over, and lose the evangelicals, but that's easier said than done.
Joe Kernan is SUCH a fucking hack. He's talking about how the GOP base is angry because Republicans just weren't able to stop Obama. Or...maybe they're pissed off because they have shitty paying jobs while CEOs are making tens of millions of dollars. Or maybe they're pissed off because they have a HUGE right wing entertainment complex built up that keeps them constantly enraged about the real threats America faces, like transgender women peeing in the ladies room. He had a younger guy on earlier that he was trying to get to agree with him that government was horrible. The guy said "if it wasn't for the universal healthcare that my family got in Canada, I wouldn't be here today because I would have had to drop out of school after my diabetic father died, to support my mother and sisters." Kernan just NEVER fucking stops being a hack.
Christ. Is that asshole still around? He is one of the main reasons (besides Cramer) why I stopped watching CNBC. They have a tone that rivals Fox News.
Came across her website when the bugger thing hit the news, as I had no idea who the hell they were or what their beliefs were. As for the Quiverfull thing I was totally ignorant of that as well.
Love that movie!
Pffft. Try this one. https://youtu.be/vTBt9tjbIM8
I demand that my music have the behind in mind.
