So, the big story is how the majority of Americans are like, cool with people making over 10 million a year being taxed at 70 percent of their income and these assholes are talking about waffles and genealogy..? Do cable news personalities make more than 10 mil a year? Just curious...
I've been told that I have some Native ancestry on my mother's side (Canadian Blackfeet); also a relation to the Hapsburgs (by marriage). My father was adopted; no idea what he brought to the mix that is me. I'm white, but I like to think of myself as Heinz 57 American.
There's maybe what, 10,000 elected officials at the state and federal level, tops? How is it in a country of 350 million we can't find 10K non assholes to run things?
Yeah, that's unfair when it's a perfectly good word. How do you feel about the "tar-baby" remark on FOX? On one hand if someone says it's a well known racial slur, I'll have to take their word for it. I can see how it would lend itself to that. On the other hand, I DIDN'T KNOW. I thought it was a spot-on literary allusion about the Virginia Dems clusterf*ck - just getting worse and worse with each passing hour. But, I've learned that others had only heard it framed to them as a slur their whole lives. We've got to make room for each others experiences.
Actually, everything is okay, since I like him. Because I like him, you see, none of it is true, and the people accusing him must have really racist pasts, but I'm just assuming. It must be true, because I like him so I'm sure it is true anyway. I like him and so he's not as racist and unredeemed as he seems or is. Did I mention that Republicans say all this too, so it's okay for me to?
(Did I get the parody of the 'I like him so it's okay' type of person right? Maybe needs more 'yall just don't care about strategy!' stuff...)
You missed "it was a long time ago when he was a kid", which is required because he was 25 and graduating med school, and Tamir Rice was only 12 but that's grown-up when you're a black child with a toy gun.
Hello... how are you? The fact that 'initially treated as indentured servants' doesn't really cut it as defining the experience of black Americans stands. Stop.

As I recall, Palin's father *was* a high school science teacher!?...

"initially treated" - don't.

Knee jerk State of Virginia indoctrinization?

What?
Literally no one is saying that.
It's a fact! It's part of American history, not a racist euphemism.

Otherwise, good job.
We're here. They just don't pick us.

"The fact... doesn't really cut it as defining the experience of black Americans"
Certainly true!
...but it is a fact all Black Americans should know, including Ms. King. It is a part of their history. To cover it up would be denying that history.
