While the EFF was protecting the sexualized, detailed torture threats on the Internet (please google Jake Baker) as protected speech, they also aggressively pushed Godwin's Law. So any threats to women are protected speech but calling a Nazi a Nazi makes you a looooser. You can draw a direct line to protection of threats and hate speech -- as long as they are adequately sexualized - of Jake Baker to Gamergate. Godwin's Law is now and always has been bullshit.

What I’m talking about is no abstract concept. It’s possibly happening right now. Marx predicted capitalism would destroy itself. And the world as we see it right now is quite likely what happens when society more or less worships money. You get extreme concentration of capital and then the people with the capital use it to erode democracy. That is exactly what we have now.
