"One of the workplace laws and rules that I think are good is that bosses shouldn’t prey on young interns in their office, and I think really the media seems to have given President Clinton a pass on this."

Wait, is he hinting that Bill Clinton had some sort of affair with an intern back when he was Prez?? It must have been a pretty thorough cover up, because I know that there wasn't a word about this in the press at the time, nor has anything been reported in the nearly 20 years since. It could cause trouble for him if he decides to run in 2016. Also too, I heard a rumor about something he was supposedly involved in back in Arkansas called Whitewater. That matter might need to be investigated by a special prosecutor or something.

It's probably good for him that none of it came out when Jay Leno was on TV, because it's the kind of thing that he would have just taken and beat right into the ground over the next couple of decades.

Personally, I hold off on uttering that particular expression until I hit a day that ends in "y."

"Sen. Rand “Aqua Buddha” Paul mansplained, as only a Republican can, how there isn’t really a war on women, except there is, but Democrats started it. (Also, he’s rubber, you’re glue, and YOUR MOM. Oh SNAP!) Oh, and the war that isn’t a war except it’s a war by Democrats is over now, the women won because his niece goes to Cornell, let us weep for the men.

If that sounds like the same old arglebargle we’re always hearing from Republicans, it is."

It's no wonder these people like to watch Fox - nothing else would make sense to their lizard brains.

After the <strike>exhausting</strike> exhaustive report on the Rand <strike>Corp.</strike> Paul in the NYT yesterday, I've been mulling over my long-held contention that when a third party arises for realz in the USA, it will be libertarian.

This is because a) Americans are fucking lunatics; and b) the libertarian ideology is the place where left and right meet. Unlike 1960s extreme rightwing breakoff parties like George Wallace's venture in the or <strike>actual</strike> extreme leftwing parties like Gene McCarthy's and Frank Church's efforts, a libertarian party has a real chance to draw more than 10% of the electorate.

Now that Rand Paul has become the spokesman for this trend, I'm relaxing. It's just another <strike>Wallace</strike> <strike>Nixon</strike> whatever effort to coopt the GOP. Good luck to 'em, I say.

One of the workplace laws and rules that I think are good is that bosses shouldn’t prey on young interns in their office, and I think really the media seems to have given Joe Scarborough a pass on this.

Ha ha, right? But everyone knows it was <a href="http:\/\/www.americanpolitics.com\/20010808Klausutis.html" target="_blank">totally consensual between Joe's intern and Death.</a> So that's not even a scandal.

I seem to remember that Monica Lewinsky was 21 AND that she was encouraging him. He clearly behaved badly but he was hardly predatory.

Three things Rand Paul and Joe S. aren't grasping here: 1) Bill and Monica were consenting adults (Republicans never seem to remember how old she was and try to portray her as something younger than a grown woman old enough to make her own decisions), 2) no coercion or harrassment was involved (or alleged), 3) Bill and Hillary aren't the same person.
