I have a hard time comparing military testosterone hijinks with defending one's family's wellbeing. I have never been involved with a blanket party, but if a scab threatened my family's livelihood, I would take part without a twinge of conscience.

I am thankful for the coastal counties including SF and LA, and Sac, and the few inland counties that are Blue. But way too many Californians vote red. 'Specially the foothills where I am. Hip groovy Nevada County (yes goddamit, it's in California) was barely Blue last November. Rednecks, tweekers, retirees from So Cal, & "alternative" grower-types up on the Ridge all got the whole "fuck the man" thing going on. Funny how the extreme lefties and righties tend to meet on the other side of the circle where you find the "Libertarian" leaners. I have a big problem with the "Libertarians". I use the quotes cuz it's a made-up thing that does not exist in the material world. Like "compassionate conservative", or "trickle down", or "vegan". (JK on the "vegan". Kinda)

You can't mean it. This is the only way it can go wrong. Bc the polls know if you've received a ballot or not, so if you come to vote in person and they know you also have a mail in ballot, they say you can vote here if you turn in your mail in ballot so we can destroy it. That's the only way you can vote in person. See? And it's the 2 big books at the polls where you're listed twice. It's in the books if you've received a ballot at your house. If you can get one from more than one source how on earth can this be controlled? And their entire whine is voters are receiving ballots with out asking for them! Which means FROM THE STATE, which still makes sense. It doesn't refer to BALLOTS FROM THE STATE AND DISNEY LAND AND RANDOM POLITICOS AND WHO CARES WHO ELSE IN OHIO? godalmighty

my argument is now, has always been and will always be--anyone can vote by mail, or no one can. Period. There is no valid excuse in my mind that allows for a person to claim they should be exempted from going to a polling place and casting a vote. Every sorry excuse given can be easily refuted. We have the right to register to vote and go cast a ballot. There is no guarantee that the state has to bend over backwards to provide you with an alternate manner of exercising that right.

And...if there is some legitimate reason that can be manufactured to allow for "absentee" voting, it should be limited to once in a specific period--10 years let's say. No one should be allowed to claim they are incapable of showing up to vote in person for every election held.

Kinda like how Paul begged for KY fed tornado aid after trying to kill it for other states? Repubs are scum.

Both are inside the larger circle of a Venn diagram of fascism, and neither have even the most tangential relationship to liberty.

Senator Scab needs a good old traditional blanket party.
