That's a weird coincidence. Lemon got fired over an interview with Vivek Ramaswamy, and Tucker Carlson had Ramaswamy scheduled for his show the day he was fired.
June 19th, 1865, was when Union Army general Gordon Granger announced “General Order Number 3” – that as a result of the Emancipation Proclamation, slavery had ended in Texas – in the city of Galveston.
First of all, as we should all know, the Emancipation Proclamation did not end slavery. Secondly, it wasn’t until the Thirteenth Amendment was ratified on December 6, 1865, that chattel slavery was finally made illegal in the United States.
HOWEVER..... Blacks started celebrating June 19th almost right from the start. If they want to make it their own official holiday, the best we can do is not stop them - and hope we get an invite to their party.
Lemon was already on the chopping block at the "new" CNN, who bristled at any journalist that might make the right-leaning guests they wanted to attract "uncomfortable." Lemon certainly didn't do himself any favors with his comments, but a big part of this was firing a warning shot to remaining staff members to "toe the line" and "Harlow" themselves or else.
Lemon did a terrible job arguing his case. You start and end with "the civil war was fought to keep the south from seceding. They wanted to secede because the north said no to their slave economy." Nobody was concerned about Black people getting and using guns. That came later. Lemon just seems to have lost his focus. Rachel would have dissected Vivek.
From an HR perspective it may have just been the proverbial straw stuck in the Lemon's back. After the Nikki Haley thing and apparently a whole string of complaints of a similar nature, and now the 'new' CNN wants to be a friendlier place for fascist morons, so add it all up...
Abraham had that problem. He had to upgrade Word and found out that meant he had to upgrade his Windows program. He started to download the software and his son looked over his shoulder. “Dad, you don’t have enough memory for that operation!”
but muh taxes...
I'd heard "Hitler took all the guns from the Jews and that's why the Holocaust happened" beforeThat is a friendship-ending comment for me.

That is great news! Congratulations!
Now send Ramaswamy to Hannity and Ingrahm.
Chamberlin!
Historical pedant here:

Go easy on the beer at first. Start with something like Bud Light.... (grin)
HOLY CRAP! Tuckums was supposed to interview Vivek also! It's all connected! Read the tea-leaves sheeple!

Are you "off" or "off-off" the Main Line? You don't, technically, have to be in St. Joe's block to qualify...
In the face of that argument, I'd suggest she knew better than to argue with fools. But I don't watch the show.
If he’d known he was going to get fired anyway, he could've really gone after this dumbass.

“Don’t worry, son. God will provide the RAM.”
