Reince Priebus Just Can't Stop Whining About The Fake News Lying Enemy Press!

Reince Priebus had a fun weekend! After Donald Trump pulled a little Hitler move and declared the news media to be the literal enemy of the American people, Priebus was dispatched to the TV news to explain that Trump meant exactly what he tweeted. (We guess Priebus had to do the shows because Kellyanne Conway really is in the doghouse right now.)

[wonkbar][/wonkbar]Priebus did two notable interviews, one with fake CBS, and one with Fox News, the best buddy pal of the Trump administration, and spoiler alert, Fox News went at him harder than CBS did! Last week, Trump tweeted that MSNBC and CNN suck dick, whereas "Fox & Friends" is awesome, but he may not have the same affectionate feelings for "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace anymore. Check out this fun interview!

WALLACE: I don't have any problem with you complaining about an individual story. But you went a lot further than that — or the president went a lot further than that. He said that the 'fake media' — not certain stories — the 'fake media' are an 'enemy to the country.' We don't have a state-run media in this country. That's what they have in dictatorships.

Priebus responded by whining that it's "not just two stories" Trump is upset about and it's "not necessarily Fox" that makes the president cry, but it's how all the other lamestream media can't stop talking about how Trump is in bed with Russian spies, because that's just unkind. He said nobody ever talks about other stuff Trump is doing, and Wallace corrected him, noting that Fox and other networks have covered literally every other "good thing" Trump has done, like making a Supreme Court nominee and whatever else.

It continued:

PRIEBUS: But you get about 10 percent coverage [on Trump's other activities] ... but then as soon as it was over the next 20 hours is all about Russian spies ...

WALLACE: But you don't get to tell us what to do, Reince, any more than Barack Obama did. Barack Obama whined about Fox News all the time, but I gotta say, he never said that we were an enemy of the people.

HAHA FOX NEWS LIKES OBAMA BETTER THAN TRUMP. You heard it here first! Priebus responded by trying to remind Chris Wallace that Obama sux, but Wallace wasn't having it, reiterating that while Barry Bamz O'Sexxxy was a total pain in the ass, he never called the press the literal enemy of the people, so go to hell, Reince.

Priebus is particularly pissed about that  New York Times story about constant contact between the Trump campaign and Russia, and says it's "complete garbage" because it relied on unnamed sources. In fact, on "Face The Nation" on CBS, Priebus took aim at one of the very foundations of Journalism, How Does It Work?, saying there should never be unnamed sources, because how can you trust something if the person saying it won't put their name on it?

I think the media should stop with this unnamed-source stuff. Put names on a piece of paper and print it. If people aren't willing to put their name next to a quote, then the quote shouldn't be listed, period.

Yeah, nope, Rinsed Pubis, or however you spell it, that is not how any of this works. But we understand that the Trump regime probably has a lot to hide, so we're not surprised these goons don't like it when the press protects the anonymity of sources, so that it may do its job of holding people in power accountable. It's a big part of how functioning democracies work, asshole.

Of course, that Times story wasn't out of the blue, but rather jibes with what everybody who's been following this story has suspected for months . And it must be SO bogus, considering how FBI Director James Comey had a super-serious classified briefing with the Senate Intelligence Committee on Friday night, like so serious that senators aren't saying one word about what happened there. (Probably something big!)

But let's hop back to the Fox News interview, because Priebus had a novel way of "debunking" the Times story on Russia, and it was LITERALLY QUOTING AN UNNAMED SOURCE:

PRIEBUS: They have made it very clear to me that that story in the New York Times is complete garbage. And quite frankly, they used different words than that.

WALLACE: Who was it that said that?

PRIEBUS: I’m not going to tell you. I can't tell you that.

WALLACE: Now wait a minute, Reince, you just complained about unnamed sources, you’re using an unnamed source.

PRIEBUS: Well because I didn’t ask for approval to use their name. But I will tell you this: When I say top-level people, I mean top-level people.

HAHAHAHAHA, Reince Priebus, you are a failure and you suck and get off our TV right the fuck now.
