I think Canada tried this and because the death rate among women got too high they reversed themselves. If it happens here, then the death rate among women will go up until people here come to their senses about the biology of reproduction. I don't like this scenario either, so I hope she does not get the appointment. It will be death sentence for thousands of women.
From what I've seen, they only seem to be reluctant to perform them on women whom they don't personally consider to have had what they think of as enough children.
