Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers wants you to know: She doesn't hate your sick baby! She has a sick baby of her own, and obviously loves him very much. So when she voted to kill protections for sick babies like her son, by voting for the "American Health Care Act," she had excellent reasons to do so, and only
My Dad died of cancer when I was ten. He died at home. I still remember the sweet nurses who made everything less traumatic for my mum, my little brother and me. Grandma died last year and when her health deteriated the NHS brought in a bed and commode so that she could die in her home. Guess how much it cost along with all the hospital visits? Nothing. I work and pay taxes. I don't mind if the money goes to other people who need it. I sat with a friend who got an abortion when we were both nineteen. She wasn't judged or had to jump through legal hoops. I just feel sorry for Americans at the moment.
No doubt, but why? Let me guess..why she is the perfect Conservative/Evangelical Girl. She does what the men tell her..why she even married a soldier boy...she's what the old folks like...a real respectful girl. But, what about the rest of the folks with brains who don't live in the 1950's..can't they vote someone else in?
Dems don't even try very hard. We get some good candidates, but no backing. Maybe next year is the charm. On the state level, dems don't even run in my legislative district.
How on earth is it possible for people to continue to believe this crap? Giving a pretty (and condescending) white lady pretty (and condescending) lines to say does not make her any more or less of a sympathetic (and condescending) figure. She has a hole for a soul; a vomitous caricature of person.
No she doesn't. SSI is needs based and you have to be under a certain income level to qualify. Check www.ssa.gov for more into. When he turns 18, he may qualify but, if he has too many resources, he could still be ineligible. However, under the ACA, Junior could have stayed on Mom's insurance until he was 26. Ironic really....
why is it that these people seem to think that states have not been allowed to innovate? that's that whole 1115 waiver thing that states are always talking about. it does have limits like CMS has to approve your dumb plan and you have to agree that if certain thresholds in expanding access by number of people, expanding service areas geographically and improving health outcomes aren't met, then you don't get to do it. it's like they don't even talk to their state governments or think about how TIME WORKS--if BamzCare passed in 20TEN and certain provisions were effective immediately, but others trickled in, then the 20ELEVEN Maine program was allowed to exist under an 1115 waiver. it even showed that shitty ideas got a chance to fail. it's like she just made the argument FOR BamzCare and that is why she voted AGAINST it.
hell, if we really wanted to expand care without the states getting in the way, we would have simply deleted "65+" from the Medicare statute instead of expanding a program states are allowed to administer anyway.
Needless to say, Mrs McMorris is trying to spin chicken shit into chicken salad. If she had bothered to check into the history of insurance "high risk" pools-- she would know that they've rarely been successful in covering those in high risk health categories--and at affordable premium rates. But what is she worrying about--she has Congressional government subsidized healthcare.
First thing Trumpski did was issue an executive order ensuring minimal enforcement efforts for the individual mandate and giving wide latitude to grant waivers.
What also isn't mentioned by Rodgers is that she is covered under Tricare, which is the military health care system, due to her husband. Her kid would always be taken care of, no matter what. She has some gall.
The Democrats need 24 seats to recapture the House majority, and they believe the most straightforward path back to power is through the 23 Republican districts won by Hillary Clinton in November, as well as the dozens more where President Trump remains deeply unliked.
P.S. If Democrats win back the House in 2018, they will start the real investigation of Trump -- Russia, tax returns, etc.
World, this is my representative, Cathy McMorris-Stupid. Damn.
She won 60% of the vote in this cherry red district. She's not worried.

Ms. Rodgers proving you really can simultaneously hold two diametrically opposing thoughts. Problem is she votes for the shitty one.

Republicans believe thier own bs like no others.

“No district is off the table.”
“Any Republican member of Congress in a seat that the president won by less than 10 points who isn’t concerned needs to be concerned.”
Asked if he had read the entire health bill, Collins, R-Clarence, said: "I will fully admit that I did not.
