After hearing about Kansas and Missouri today and now this Iโm feeling much better. FINALLY we get people pushing back on these horrible fascists and sex pests dropping out. Iโm sure old Maxie Miller will stay in and roundly get his ass kicked by the Dem Candidate.
And yeah Abdul is take no prisoners sort of guy. We need fighters like that.
Reactions were rolling in after Vice President JD Vance unleashed a fat-shaming attack on a Republican ally on Wednesday.
Vance launched the unprovoked attack on Marc Thiessen, a longtime conservative, after a post on X that did not involve Vance, The Daily Beast reported. Right-wing influencer Matt Walsh started the online conversation when he talked about how rising grocery prices "were becoming a vulnerability for President Donald Trump."
In response, Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet described a story from a college student about burrito prices.
"One of our TPUSA college students gave me his take on affordability: 'A burrito shouldnโt cost $20,'" Kolvet wrote.
But Thiessen apparently didn't agree and argued that college students shouldn't be spending money on eating out.
"Cry me a river. The burritos in the college cafeteria are included in your meal plan," Thiessen responded.
Vance then took a swipe at Thiessen.
"Iโm surprised to hear Mark say this. If youโve ever met him in person, itโs quite obvious the man has never missed a burrito," Vance wrote, spelling Thiessen's first name incorrectly.
"The Vice President is making fat jokes. That's how far America has fallen," liberal commentator Ed Krassenstein wrote on X.
"Welcome back to s---posting, sir! Donโt listen to Susie Wiles - keep Twitter on your phone!" Jon Favreau, former Obama speechwriter and co-founder of Crooked Media, wrote on X.
"*Marc," X account Typos of the New York Times wrote on X, calling Vance out for the spelling error in his post.
"Tell Marc about your secret," former Obama national security staff Tommy Vietor wrote on X, sharing an image of Ozempic.
OK, Imma gonna wanna have a little tipple tonight. Three bottles followed me across the border from Canada when I came back from Montreal. A Canadian whiskey, a Canadian bourbon, and a Canadian rye.
Which one should I have?
And no, "all three" is NOT the answer - until I've tasted all of them and can blend them in decent proportions, as Hooper would advise.
OT: well the GOP has debuted its first ad against El-Sayed and it is the one pretty much everyone knew they'd be running: it's about his embrace of Hasan Piker coupled with Hasan Piker's declaration that America deserved 9/11. Hopefully El-Sayed's team knew it was coming too b/c it's gonna be running for 3 months and he'll need a response.
I've been writing poetry (more like prose poems; I can't do meter or rhyme) for my husband for many years. Why search for a greeting card to say something perfect when I can just say exactly what I mean? He's never had to expose my ethics to the press and I've never had to resign from my job so after 24 years, I figure no harm done.
I reeeeeaaaallly love it when our side stands up to these fascist racist fucks. I'm crushing on our democratic socialists. Which I really think is just the Ds of the 70s when we were kicking ass with rights, unions, wages, etc.

Now that he has won the Democratic Senate nomination in Michigan, progressive Democrat Abdul El-Sayed is pivoting to the general election and going up guns blazing against his Republican opponent, former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI).
El-Sayed, an Egyptian-American former public health director in Detroit, took aim at the GOP for scaremongering about him by using a lengthened form of his name, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, in their attack ads.
"They think they want to use my whole name against me," said El-Sayed. "Mike, listen man, if you can't say the name โ it's Abdulrahman โ keep the name out [of] your d--- mouth."
El-Sayed then challenged Rogers to a series of debates and threw in a jab about the recent controversy that Rogers may actually live in Florida instead of Michigan.
"Mike, I'm gonna say it right now, I know you're gonna say no because you're a coward: Five debates, alright?" said El-Sayed. "If you're willing to stand with me and have a conversation, you and I both know that you will wither in front of your own crimes. But I'm gonna make sure Michiganders know about them. By the time we're done, you are not gonna have safe harbor from people holding you accountable for what you've done for them here in Michigan."
"We will send you back to Florida where you belong," he added.
OK, Iโm done for the moment. The stove pipe has been cleaned, only a cup or so of particulate this time so thatโs good. The water pump pressure tank has been repressurized. The boiler just completed its annual check up, and itโs going to need a new control board, so all of that is kind of expensive, but not as bad as the alternative. And I am about to take a nap. Maybe mow later maybe not. that is all.
Forty years ago, in Texas, when the only things we shot were vermin on a friendโs cattle ranch (much smaller than youโre thinking), yeah. Now? No clue.

I'm hoping for a nice time photo lede for the open thread ... I tire of Up Chuck and his dead rat hairpiece.
This Chuck also once gave Donald Trump a โFrench Fries Certificationโ pin"
Was it solid gold, because if it wasn't DJT wouldn't give a fig for it...
"Here ... pawn this!"

Yes! You've got the right idea.
Nice- Robyn is incorrect on her Poetry take here...tsk tsk...
You do meter without knowing it. Probably iambic b/c that's the natural rhythm of the English language. XD
As creeps go, this particular Chuck seems to have been a mild one.
Not grabby, not a physical abuser, not a spiker/predator and also writing poems?
Definitely not in the Epstein/Trump class.
Chuck Taylor made nice tennis shoes...
โNot grabby, not a physical abuser, not a spiker/predator and also writing poems?โ
Do we know that for sure?
Because I wouldnโt bet thatโs the final answer.
My guess is that he's getting out before things get worse.
Roses are red
Restraining orders are specific
If you checked my browser history
The results would be horrific
๐๐ป ๐๐ป ๐๐ป ๐๐ป ๐๐ป
Maybe the GOP should print a survey for potential candidates
Have you ever sexually assaulted any one?
โก yes
โก no
Can it be proved?
โก yes
โก no.
If yes, would you care if it was?
โก yes
โก no.
The survey writes itself. Let us apply to work at the RNC.
Are you in the EPSTEIN FILES?
Do you have "restraining orders"...??
If not, why not?

Nice. - it's has the Mamdani hook!
He's coming out swinging. This is the kind of shit that wins elections.

Not fucking around.
People voted for the fighter.

Totally unnecessary in a palapa on a beach.
If I see him on the street, I will yell loudly: "Hey, What's Up-Chuck?!?!"
because I am mentally 6 years old.
Asking as a European: is 'guns' a widespread romantic gift in the US, alone with jewelry, dinners and the like? Or is this more of a chucky issue?
Forty years ago, in Texas, when the only things we shot were vermin on a friendโs cattle ranch (much smaller than youโre thinking), yeah. Now? No clue.
Its a MAGA thing.
You should see their Christmas Cards.
If you're a right wing, GQP MAGA piece of shit then a gun is a romantic gift.
I thought guns as a gift are just for homicidal troubled yoots.
for mistresses? yes.
wives? no
Wow. Gross.
note that was very sarcastic, should have included that.
Don't you start putting a "/s" on stuff! It's like explaining a punch line!
Ahhhh, apologies. Stupid. I really don't know anymore what is normal and what not in America.
Very little here is still normal.
Ask whatever you like.
We left normal behind a looooooooong time ago.
Stupid me, I wanted to say.
