You know, they could of just pass a bill that declares that Obamacare will "henceforth be called TrumpAmazingCare" and call it a day. That should make everyone happy.

Not preachy at all, I probably agree with you on all counts. Of course it depends on how they would tax to pay for the health care because all taxes are bad forever. Not sure how Grover, Newt and all their R buddies think we are going to have a civilized society without taxes or government for that matter. They are just all about the attention. Yes, there are some that will vote against their best interests but I think it is interesting that some Ds and Is voted for trump because he promised better cheaper health care. If some people that are not too aligned with Bernie tell them that is how to do that I think they can be convinced. Yes, they do have a fear that somebody else is getting something they aren't and of course they deserve it and the "others" do not but maybe it can be put to them in a way that they would like it? I think everybody is getting sick of these health care plans that get worse and worse and maybe we could join the rest of the first world. But that is just the mood I am in at this moment, I think it is possible but I don't know if we can get there. Most of the time I think we are so screwed and the world as we know it could end very soon. I don't think we will get any majorities after 2018 and the gerrymandering and voter suppression worked so well that we can't ever come back from it.But what do I know.

5$F, you made me lol. Once I wiped away the tears and sobered up: I don't want to eat at the E. Coli buffet, but I want to force every Senator to do so and I'll even tie their whiny baby bib for them. The only donations accepted are for their barf buckets and a cleaning crew.

Don't get too discouraged. The USA is an impressive modern democracy but a young one still. Universal suffrage according to race - 50 years. Universal suffrage based on gender - 100 years. Many countries only adopted single payer healthcare recently as there are people alive that remember the days prior to universal access. To use the oft used political phrase, "We can disagree without being disagreeable." And JFK "...do the other things not because they are easy, but because they are hard." Democracy is hard and the cost is vigilance and engagement by the people. My hope is that the American people rediscover this as voter suppression, gerrymandering and money influencing politics are contrary to the tenets of democracy.

It will be interesting to see what happens, and I hope "interesting" in a good way. I think I am most surprised by how many stupid and/or deplorable people there are though. I really thought the real crazies were only like 10% but they seem to be about 30% really crazy and another 20% sort of crazy.

I'm enormously discouraged that NOT ONE R over the past 8 years could have come up with a plan, besides that abortion Lyin' Ryan suggested. Really, it's going to be a millennia until 2020, not just 3.5 very long years.
