Republicans won't do anything about Trump for the same reason that Trump cakewalked to the GOP nomination, the only legitimate victory that lifelong criminal has ever had: They don't actually disagree with him on anything.
Best thing now would be for the hamberders and sloth to put an end to Trump before the election. For good, or else the GOP would run that dipshit from his hospital bed. Not wishing it to happen, just sayin' that if it would put an end to Republican ratfucking, I would not be sorry.
Not to mention having their personal and public lives ceaselessly examined and trashed on social media and the lives of those they love endangered from Pizzagate believers.

You forgot statehood for Puerto Rico! That makes more senators too. Although I like my plan better which is abolish the Senate. 😌 Geography wise we need for there to be fewer states! By combining them: Minnascin, New Zona and Alassippi.
OR keep the Senate but only have three states: Dixie, California and Other. I kinda like that. 🤔
The repubs didn't think that they were going to win in 2016 so after cheeto they've been playing with house money. Getting that tax cut and the SCOTUS bastards prompted an avalanche of money from the big donors and religious cults. They know that it can't last so they're stealing everything they can while they still have cheeto and his corrupt AG to keep the cops away.
We don't need bipartisanship now. That day has passed. We need deep and wide-ranging reform from the top (Kochs, Mercers) to the bottom. We don't have much time either. Looming close by is the climate crisis and the IT/privacy/automation crisis. Not to mention China. But, if it's Biden, of course I will vote for him. Vote blue through and through.
What are they afraid of, Willie Geist? Massive and irreversible demographic change. They can see the numbers turning just as well as the rest of us, and they're trying to make sure they smash and grab what they can while they can. If they take our democracy down in the process, they're okay with that outcome.
And they just don't want to go through all of the demeaning, ridiculous crap it takes to run for the office. Who needs that? Whose family needs that?
