30+ years ago at my environmental college, we were told that all the models were ineffective at predicting where climate change would go, bc they all got to a certain point and went haywire. Turns out, they weren't going haywire. They were modeling. And here we are. Pretty scary. In the 80s, there were about 1 million air passengers a day. Now there are about 3 million. Restrict your air travel as much as you can.

And here we are, because a third of us haven't shown up since Obama to stop it.
I’m saddened that we’ve let our planet’s life cycle get so out of hand. But no, these are not fires that can be stopped. Canada is doing the right thing to mitigate the worse around communities and manageable areas. So now the east and Midwest US are getting a taste of what it has been like living in California that has been burning for longer periods each year for years. Luckily California is OK right now - but their fire season is almost full year now so 🤞. Also remember Canada always sends help when the big fires (and floods etc) come to the US.
It’s called regulation and very detailed timber harvesting planning with attention toward old growth, forest health, habitat for animals, bugs, flora, fungi. Timber companies need the rules, they are capable of hiring people who know the “right” way to manage a forest - This issue is so complicated by so many factors it blows my mind sometimes.
The GOP will only worry about climate change when their central heating/air breaks. But even only then they will care about for a few months. Just like 1/6 or Osama bin Laden.
