Pence still thinks he's going to be president. Cruz just took a break from kissing Trump's butt for a few minutes, but he'll be back quickly enough. It's his default position.
No one should make the mistake of thinking Mike Pence is anything but the horrible human being he is just because Trump is worse. Given a free hand, Pence would turn this country into a Christo-fascist theocracy.
Pence is worse. He professes to be a man of faith but knowingly and willingly supported an unrepentant serial adulterer for the most powerful position in the world. A true man of faith would not have done that. So, TFG is a POS but at least he's upfront about being a POS.
Two indisputable facts:1. When Trump matters in a race, he matters.2. When Trump doesn't matter in a race, he still matters.
No conclusions about Trump in any larger sense can be drawn from individual races that may be impacted on by very particularized issues, such as Kemp being able to expend political largesse or the Republican base seeing Perdue as a loser and Kemp as a winner based on their prior runs.
A given win or loss in an endorsement means no more than when his audience booed him about boosters and the media went all WAP about how Trump had lost his power over the base and then, of course, he didn't.
It should be assumed that Trump retains control until such time as current MAGAts actually take to the streets to denounce him, and in that regard the media is like Eleanor in The Lion in Winter, predicting a desired unity that every actual observed indicator of behavior argues against:
Henry : The day those stout hearts band together is the day that pigs get wings. Eleanor: There'll be pork in the treetops come morning.

I disagree with the GOP thinking. 2 black guys running against each other is gonna be bad news for Hersch down in Valdosta, Statesboro, Columbus, Albany...at minimum one in five whiteys won't vote for Walker regardless of what Trump says about him. Warnock can point out that Hersch hasn't lived in GA for decades. Abrams is gonna drive a big turnout and that's gonna be bad news for the Repubs
