Better give the people what they want
So remember that one time when Republicans had their first presidential debate, and Donald "Trump" Trump was an a-hole because being an a-hole is his brand? And all the Very Serious Pundits declared this was the beginning of the end for Trump, because Republicans don'treallywant an a-hole for president.
PPP's newest Iowa poll finds Donald Trump leading the Republican field in the state even after a weekend of controversy. He's at 19% to 12% for Ben Carson and Scott Walker, 11% for Jeb Bush, 10% for Carly Fiorina, 9% for Ted Cruz, and 6% for Mike Huckabee and Marco Rubio. [...]
PPP last polled Iowa in April and at that time Trump had a 40/40 favorability rating with GOP voters. On this poll his favorability is 46/40, not substantially better than it four months ago. That suggests Trump's favorability could be back on the way down after peaking sometime in the last few weeks. But at any rate Trump does have the advantage with pretty much every segment of the GOP electorate- he's up with Evangelicals, men, women, voters in every age group, moderates, voters who are most concerned with having the candidate who is most conservative on the issues, and voters who are most concerned about having a candidate who can win the general election.
It's not just Iowans; all the Republicans in America really want the a-hole:
Donald Trump continued to defy the laws of political gravity on Monday as a Reuters/Ipsos poll found the real estate mogul holding onto a wide lead among Republicans in the U.S. presidential race despite an acerbic debate and a feud with a female television anchor that have bolstered charges of sexism.
Trump led the party's 17-strong 2016 presidential field with the backing of 24 percent of Republican voters, unchanged from before Thursday's televised debate.
Seriously, give them the a-hole!
See? Republicans don't want some boring Washington insider or some RINO governor, who's going to blah blah snooze at them about policy, BORRRRRRING! No, they want someone who's going to kick your ass and then build a fence around it. Republicans want someone who isn't afraid to insult a woman's bleeding ovaries, and then say she should apologize to him ! That's the kind of GRRRR tough! nominee Republicans want.
And that is Excellent News for Donald Trump, who shows no sign of reining it in or cooling it down or not being a total a-hole. And he shouldn't, because obviously, this is exactly what the GOP wants, and good for him and God bless, may he winallthe delegates and be the next Republican nominee for president of U.S. America, huzzah and yee haw!
Because this is also Excellent News for someone else (no, not you, Jeb, you're still fucked, buddy):
But who cares about a dumb poll, right? Go with Trump, Republicans, what's the worst that could happen?

I hear ya. I lived overseas for ten years and thankfully I was always able to come home for every presidential election.
Or a remote starter; we used to call them Mafia preventers. Don't ask!
