I've said it before, I'll say it again - Ohio's not a red state, we're just drawn that way.
A *purple* state, sure, I'll agree to that. That's been forced to operate under a GOP supermajority that muscled its way in fifteen or so years ago and pulled the ladder up behind it. We vote under ILLEGAL maps that oh, oopsie, the Ohio lege didn't find a way to correct when they were supposed to so guess they just had to keep using the old ones, so sad too bad. And the gerrymandering, whoof. Lookit how Gym Jordan's district is drawn sometime; its less a gerry-salamander than a snake in the grass.
Yes, it's been a few years since we were reliable blue, but even the small-town folks who inexplicably thought a rich New Yorker was gonna look out for them barely crested 50% in any of the last three presidential elections. If Dems are waking up to the fact that the state shouldn't quite be written off just yet then good - tho Amy Acton's stance on trans rights isn't doing her any favors in the state's LGBTQ+ communities. I'll still vote for her (even got a yard sign) but I'll be holding my nose while I do it, and hoping she can be pressured into a more reasonable stance once she's elected.

AIPAC helped Stevens lose.
Remarkable shift in American politics.
Wow.
I do NOT think getting money from AIPAC killed Stevens. She said she thought ICE should be reformed. That was a huge fuck up.
Is this because they think the right wing lie engine will have an easier time against El-Sayed?
I think the message is that AIPAC support is becoming a net negative.
And the pro-Israel PACs spent around $40 MILLION to get Stevens elected. Think about that for a second ...
One can only hope.
