Our vey, hubby blew up on me regarding a blank email he sent to me with an attachment, but no explanation as to what I was supposed to do with it. He just had rotator cuff last Friday and has been in a lot of pain so I was kind of expecting it at some point. Still, I left the house and am enjoying a couple of G & Ts at the Lava Rock Cafe.

I want that Poindexter guy to win because of his name. I had a Felix the Cat board game as a kid and there was a Poindexter in it. Of course, I want him to beat that idiot asshole, also, too.

Bitter Scribe's avatar

Did Miller try to make fun of his name? Sounds likely.

John Poindexter is running?

When I was a kid Poindexter was a grave insult.

Ukrainian vegetable seller targeted in 'human safari' drone attack

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has shared a video of a street vendor being hunted by a drone before it exploded.

The man in the video verified by the BBC, 52-year-old street vegetable seller Yuriy, managed to survive the attack, but sustained shrapnel wounds and a concussion.

Known by some in Ukraine as "human safari", the deployment of remotely-operated drones against civilians has often been used by Russians to terrify residents of front line areas.

Okay: Which one of you clowns gave my private number to Todd Blanche? He's pestering me to pester Suzie Collins for her vote. I don't like it.

Have you tried throwing boiling water on her? Works for Republicans.

It's nice she even takes your calls though.

Not for me, though.

Day 4 of Cleaning Up Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Second least bad day of the bunch so far. I think I'm going to go out of my way to see any new release besides Brand New Day on my two days off, just out of sheer spite for how much cleaning up after Brand New Day has hurt me.

It is really good, but you should wait until you’re in the right frame of mind for it.

When you have not much money to give to charity, and still you're on the mailing list of two jillion nonprofits to the point where moneybegs are three-quarters of your snail mail, you sometimes have a hard time choosing where to spread your not-largesse.

(Now some of them have found my phone number, even though I NEVER give that out or give online -- always by mailed check. Fuck you, Habitat for Humanity. I don't care that you sent me a calendar -- you're not getting another dime from me.)

Ahem.

Sometimes I get on a kick where I'll give only to, say, food banks. But other times I want to have an impact elsewhere. That's why I have a hanging folder full of return envelopes from assorted moneybegs. Once in a while I'll just reach inside there without looking, pluck out an envelope at random, and send the lucky winner a check. That's why my last c-note went to Amnesty International.

Well, they're as deserving as anyone, I guess. Especially with President Fuckstick ignoring international law and inflicting misery on millions by whim. That means plenty of victims who need help, all over the world, thanks to the good old USA.

Plus, this will make me feel less guilty about using the cool return address labels they're always sending me. Now I can even use the ones with the AI logo.

I learned today that the term AI was coined in 1956 when there was a large conference with Alan Turing and other best and brightest to discuss a “thinking “ machine. No women or people of color were invited of course, except for one guy’s wife whose role was to walk the dog and make sammiches.

Lot has changed eh?

Wow someone should tell Moreno about all the children being held in ICE detention, and how they had to leave their home, friends, belonings behind to be jailed.

Yeah, we’ll see Susan.

So my judge scheduled a "Status Update" conference call with both attorneys on August 12 at 3 pm. I just called the judge's clerk to ask to be included in that call. The clerk asked the judge who said she can't include me in the conference call, that only my attorney can bridge me in, and the reason why is because she can't give me her direct phone number, and she doesn't want it showing up on my Caller ID either.

Problem is I asked my attorney to bridge me into two previous such conference calls, and he never did it and said he couldn't do it without the judge's permission, which was not true, he just didn't want to bother.

So I just Googled this issue and discovered this:

"If Person 1 initiates a conference call with Person 2, and Person 2 then calls Person 3 to join the call, Person 3 will not see Person 2's caller ID. They will see the caller ID of Person 1 - the person who actually placed the initial call (the first person/host), because standard carrier conference calls are bridged through that primary host's phone line."

So I called the judge's clerk and left her that message. We'll see if I get any results.

Good luck.

And I'd like to meet your lawyer after this is all resolved in your favor, just so I can break my foot off in his ass. He sounds, from everything you've said, like a real piece of work.

Forgive my naïveté concerning Narcissism -- my mom was one so I'm somewhat inured -- but it spontaneously occurs to me, thanks largely to Don-Don, that one way to grab and hold the attention of another / others is to cause them pain.

I'll repeat that: TO CAUSE THEM PAIN.

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

You cause a narcissist pain by confirming their suspicion they don’t really exist.
