There should be investigations into the violent riots over the summer. Those police departments and federal law enforcement agencies should be held accountable.
Refuse to impose what? What examples do you have? They just retained 3/3 with barely a majority in the Senate. There are ramifications with filibuster crap, but they've already passed a massive covid relief bill with many benefits.
And what power are you referring to? Republicans controlled 3/3 power during the first two years of Trump, and lost the House in the last two years, down to 2/3. But they had the Senate the entire time. As in, they wielded nearly all of the power.
So up until now, Democrat were in the minority in terms of voting power.
Let's not forget there's dozens of prosecutions still coming. The trials alone will help keep 01/06 in the news cycle, with fresh evidence. We definitely need a commission to hold officials to account, but that might become easier as the trials of those directly involved get going.
I think the hearings do need to go back to the summer, since TFG was planting the seeds of the Big Lie at least that far back, as was shown during the impeachment hearings. But they need to stick to the topic at hand, the treason insurrection on 1/6, and not go wandering off like lost Repos children chasing their wayward trial balloons.
