Project 2025 devotes ONE SENTENCE to the addiction crisis. That sentence declares that the crisis will end when the Southern Border is closed. Any fourth grader could tell you it's not that fucking simple.

These assholes don't care about drugs. They care about stoking their own power and wallets using "drugs" as an excuse. They don't care about you or your family's struggles with addiction. They just don't. Trump pardoned the Silk Road drug dealer as soon as he could. Maybe he wanted to diversify his sons' portfolio by getting into a little fentanyl on the down-low.

They are worse than your corner dealer. They are kingpins.

"get Canada and Mexico to stop shipping fentanyl across our borders" I so despise the way they manipulate the language to give the message that somehow these nations are actively engaging in shipping drugs. It's what they do when they say "Mexico is sending rapists," the same kind of verbal shuck. Individual Canadians or Mexicans are engaging in criminal drug smuggling; one assumes Canada and Mexico are doing as much drug enforcement as we are in the US to stop and apprehend them. There are not many ways for Canada to prevent an individual from taking drugs over the border into the US - that's the US's job at the border. And, apparently, both countries are doing a pretty good job, seeing as how very little fentanyl is crossing the northern border.

Its fine and all, but when I stay away from the Sunday Shows that includes staying away from recaps too...It just feels like 'noise on top of noise' to me...I guess its important to chronicle this stuff ...I just don't need or want ANY aspect of it in my life, even humorous run-up of them...That's a me thing though...

When I worked at CNN and removed microphones from guests like these, it was all I could do to keep from saying "How do you do it? How do you look at the camera and lie right in our faces?"

Elmo looked pretty shaken (not stirred) on Kuldow yesterday.

Down $64B in TSLA YTD.

Gee (I mean LOL)

CNBC referred to it as "The Tesla Chainsaw Massacre".

Only in America could the man who committed the largest (so far as we know) Medicare fraud in history go on to become a Senator and then get to continue to lie in public with virtually no pushback. We need to start humiliating these people on these shows.

Any interview with that asshole, especially when he goes on about "waste and abuse," should include: WEREN'T YOU THE BIGGEST MEDICARE FRAUD IN HISTORY, asshole? You want to cut people's benefits because of this made up bullshit but you made your fortune ripping off the government.

Not only that, the media actually CHOOSES him to interview about Medicare fraud. I guess he IS an expert on it.

If only we had been warned! Had there been some sign, some subtle indicator! Some behavioral tick, some gestural tell! Something buried in the pages of history! Some record of such reckless, vile, cruel, and diseased behavior! Anything, no matter how small, to give us even the slightest hint of a clue!

Think, they won't even have to "Make Mars Great" again, they can be the ones that make it great for THE FIRST TIME! How epic. They're just the crew, take everybody remotely associated with this maladministration!

Just a reminder that Jake Fucking Tapper isn't among the people who might risk ANYTHING to stop this speedrun to an oppressive police state in permanent service of the oligarchs.

Vancouver seemed pretty drug-heavy when I was there in July, I saw an addict threaten one of his cohort with a knife in the street. Has fuckall to do with this, though.

Re: Rick Scott - "[…] So I'm very comfortable that Donald Trump, Elon Musk, our agency heads, they're going to do the best they can. "

Sorry, dude, but if this is the best they can do then they need to GTFO. In a business setting no one would tolerate this level of incompetence.

The whole “move fast and break things (then figure out how to fix them later)” mantra has got to be the most insipid business philosophy ever. I get that tech douche bros all think they’re masters of the universe and their every brain dropping is pure genius, but the tech industry is also littered with failed startups who tried to grow too fast and broke too many things. The ones that succeed are mainly due to luck plus the ability to buy or steal (Zuckerberg) other people’s ideas and monetize them.

Just a reminder to everyone:

Thanks to President Biden, Fentanyl deaths peaked in the 2021-2022 period, and have been falling steadily since. It turns out that humane treatment of addicts along with making widely available drugs that prevent overdose deaths works really well.

Plus everyone knows Canada is where you go to get your cocaine, not Fentanyl. The Coca fields of the Northwest Territories and the Yukon Territories can't be matched. Why do you think they filmed all those Miami Vice episodes there in the 1980s?????

These fucking Republicans. They're all Gummint bad, private sector good, but you don't see them in the private sector. Either they're in office, running for office, trying to get a Cabinet position, or doing some podcast where they talk about Government and interview each other. Then there's this PAC and that PAC. You never see them in industry. And no, a chair at the Heritage Foindation funded by a right wing billionaire is not private industry.
