I think I'll go there tomorrow morning and have them put "Man-Goat" on the cup.

Now wait just one minute, young lady: Rupert Murdoch isn't a *real* American, he's an Australian-American, who doesn't understand the values of this country.

Oh, and I'd like to see his scores on the citizenship test he took to become an emigrant-ed American citizen (or did he pay someone to take the test for him?).

mark "wish they'd blow him back to Australia"

I suspect there is a double entendre in that ad but I can't quite put my finger on them it.

The subtext: Our Judeo-Christian nation already had more than enough Judeos.

I often wonder who the next group to hate will be, after Hispanic culture has become as American as pepperoni pizza and St Patrick's Day.

Well, that part's still true...

That nasty little meme got spread by the media, including NPR and PBS, so fast my head spun. I even heard one reporter correct herself in mid-sentence: "refu...migrants" like she hadn't read the morning memo carefully enough.

The right wing wants to portray Islam as the source of terrorism, as though Muslims were the only ones to use terror as a tactic. They want the President to say the enemy is "radical Islam", which is a religious provocation. The terrorists also want to portray a religious war, Islam versus Crusaders, for that is how they recruit. President Bush, for his part, ran into trouble using words like "crusade", for the obvious reason, and "struggle", which translates in Arabic as "jihad", so he had to go back and try to clarify that the war was not a crusade or jihad against Islam. President Obama has the natural advantage of a broad cultural perspective, and he speaks extremely well on the subject.

He is also the only one who actually sounds like a Christian. At least the rest of the world sees our President showing some moral courage. Being from Alabama I was totally ashamed but not surprised that our gov was the first idiot to ban refugees FFS

A "new" and superb idea tried in Utah (I know! right?) and New York City is to give the homeless a no-strings-attached home! How's that for clever innovation! And better yet? What could be better? It works. They get clean and start caring almost the minute they have a safe place to live!!! Who'd a thunk after all these decades of benign neglect (h/t Patrick Moynihan in the Nixon whitehouse).

Put that down. You have no idea where its been.
